Ron Isley and Rod Stewart doing a duet on a song. It doesn't get any better than that!!
Great song and I have the cassette to prove it and another great team up is Billy Joel and the late great Ray Charles doing a soulful rendition of "Baby Grand."
@@saturnnet1627 oh okay I got to look that up. I never heard of that one.
Can you react to the version by the Isley Brothers?
No it doesn't!!!!! 🤣
actually it does!! Phil Collins and Philiip Bailey "Easy Lover" LOL
One of my favourite Rod videos
It has a Motown sound, always pick me up when it come on my playlist.
Originally done by the Isley Brothers, Ronald is one of the members on this remake. Such a great sound,I love his Rod pays respect to the artists from the pass.
They haven't done enough of the Isley Brothers to appreciate what icons they are.
The Isley Brothers weren't big stars during their time at Motown time, but their version of this is one of the best of the Motown hits. Written by Holland-Dozier-Holland and Sylvia Moy.
@@user-gt2uf8cq9y What do you mean? They were more successful even with this Motown song. They left Motown in 1968 and became bigger with their T-Neck Label and Buddha Records.
@@thebrilliantmrpedro This was their only top 40 hit in three years at Motown, despite many great performances.
You're so right the Isley Brothers were one of the first Black acts to have their own label during the those time, and had the bulk of their success under the T-Neck label
TWO ICONS...FIRE!!
Rod Stewart is one of the best of all times.
Great reaction! Check out another power duo...Phil Collins and Philip Bailey - "Easy Lover." FIRE!! 🔥 🔥
I’m a huge Isley Brothers fan, and a Rod Stewart fan as well. A great collab from two all time greats on a classic Isley Brothers song! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯
Elton John and George Michael live, singing Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me , is a must for you guys.
Yes, 1000% agree. They already reacted to Elton's solo version, but the duet takes the song to whole new heights. I still get chills at the moment Elton joins the song and the crowd goes wild. George's voice is immaculate. One of the greatest duets ever.
Showing how duets are done, two of the greatest
And they hated each other
Yes I also agree. An amazing version of Elton John's huge hit with George Michael's beautiful voice singing a duet. 100% agree. I must listen. 😊
Jay & Amber, you'll love Rod's "Every Picture Tells A Story" and "Downtown Train" !!!
you'll love The Isley Brothers "It's Your Thing", "Fight the Power" and "This Old Heart of Mine (Is Weak for You)"!!!
Every picture tells a story and the first cut is the deepest… y’all will love Rod in these 😊
Reason to Believe.
This song is my favorite of the Isley Brothers songs. React to the Isley Brothers singing it back in the 60's
Rod just goes well with everything and everyone
FACTS!🎙🎶👊
A great remake of a classic soul song! Rod was a big fan of The Isley Brothers, Sam Cooke, and other soul artists of the 60's. Great pair of voices, it totally works!
Oh yeah, he did a remake of "Twistin' the night away" for the movie Innerspace.
Listening to Rod Stewart as a 14 year old is how I discovered Sam Cookes music. He can sing anything.
If you haven't already, you should listen to "Little Red Rooster".
Rod Stewart songs my heart can't tell you no, downtown train, and Lost in you, are my favorites
I got chills all over my body, easily 20 years since I enjoyed it last
"If you leave me a hundred times, a hundred times I'll take you back."
I love this lyric
You certainly couldn't mistake Rod Stewart for anyone else, his voice is so distinctive
Trust me when I say you guys have barely touched the tip of the iceberg with Rod Stewart songs. Please keep them coming!
He has so many great songs! You guys will love You're In My Heart, Sailing, I Don't Want To Talk About It, The First Cut Is the Deepest, I Was Only Joking, and Baby Jane!
I was only Joking is my personal favorite
Great pairings, Celine Dion and the BeeGee's.
I like Rod Stewart 's 'The Motown Song'. Also 'My Heart Can't Tell You No'. Anything from The Isley Brothers is great!
Two Amazing and Legendary voices together absolutely amazing can't get any better Than this 😊
Fabulous Fabulous Fabulous 🙌🏻, Rockn Rod , so smoove and and swanky dance 🕺,,,, with Ronald Isley power 💥….. Wow 🤩 , hard to beat this tune !!!!!!!!!
Happy, happy, happy!!!!!!!!!!!
Classic song with the blending of two fantastic iconic singers voices. Thank You Thank you
Duet with Phil Collins and Phillip Bailey from Earth Wind & Fire Easy Lover is golden.
Love this song and don't miss Rod Stewart's song "The First Cut is the Deepest". I think you'd really like it. Sending good vibes!
"The Motown Song," from Rod Stewart came out around the same time. It's an awesome song to consider to check out!
Great suggestion ❤️
Another underrated duet. By to great singers.
cool. Rod Stewart is the man. "This Old Heart Of Mine" been broke a thousand times...thank you. These people are fine with it and this is a nice little love song, this evening. That hit the spot. Love you guys. See you on the next. Peace and love, y'all.❣❤💔❤🤟😎
If y’all loved this, you MUST check out Rod Stewart with the Temptations “The MoTown Song” next. It is 🔥 🔥 🔥. I guarantee Jay will be dancing from the start of the song!
I second this whole heartedly 😊
An interesting duet that hit it out of the park was when Peter Cetera and Cher sang "After All" , they sang it for the movie Chances Are. Definitely worth a listen!
Two very talented artists right here. Check out Rod Stewart's "Reason to Believe" (Unplugged Version). So much emotion! ❤👍 👍
Or Mandolin wind, that's a beautiful song that tells a story ❤
Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood unplugged....Rod and Ronnie were with Faces in the late '60s....thanks
This is one of those Motown songs with an upbeat tune but heartwrenching lyrics about a guy who is devastated by the loss of his girl. The poor dude just can't move on, and like the singer in "Ain't Too Proud To Beg," he's abandoned his pride: "If you leave me a hundred times, a hundred times I'll take you back. I'm yours whenever you want me."
Lamont Dozier said it was inspired by girl he just couldn't give up. "The more I tried the deeper I fell," he said. "I made excuses for her and all the wrong she had done to me. She was a necessary evil that I just couldn't overcome." Rod Stewart, a huge fan of both Motown and The Isley Brothers, recorded his own version in 1975 and released it as a single. His rendition was a big hit in the UK, climbing to #4, but it only went to #83 in America. He did a lot better stateside when he recorded the song as a duet with Ronald Isley in 1989. This version made #10 in the US.
The voices mesh SO well! Also the orchestration is so perfect, updated, but still true to the original.
True greatness from Rod Stewart to pay homage to his masters.
As a trombonist in a horn-band, I LOVE how you guys always give props to the horns!
I loved both versions of this song. The Isley Brothers' 1966 version was their breakout song, and previewed what their soung would evolve into.
They had a “Number One” hit on the Billboard “Black Music” (now called R & B) Chart in 1959 with their song, “Shout”.
Rod Stewart also did a song with The Temptations called The Motown Song. He also had a song in the early 80's called Passion which is fire, and I hope you guys can react to it sometime. And another kick ass rockin' duet is It's Only Love by Tina Turner and Bryan Adams.
Fabulous duet by these 2 legends!
Rod is a great artist he loves what he does, Ron from the Isley Brothers were part of my motown time, in the 60-70'S
Please listen to "Waiting for a Star to Fall" from BOY MEETS GIRL.
Yes!
Great recommendation and follow up to this great tune!
💖
This is when Rod was doing classic old songs.
Great song! I have always enjoyed this one!
Hey Guys! Love watching your reactions to all of these classic songs. Next time you get around to doing Rod Stewart, you should check out "The Motown Song." Very fun and upbeat song!
I haven't heard this for years. What a treat.
Another great pairing is Clarence Clemens and Jackson Brown 'You're A Friend of Mine.'. The sax in this song is outstanding.
The Motown Song by Rod is fantastic! Give it a listen.
Beautiful Song !!!!!! Perfect duo ROD & RONALD !!!! GREAT JOB GUYS !!!!
Rod was raised on soul!
Those 60s dresses. Yes!!!
‘’I was only joking”, is a great song to showcase Rod’s voice.
Rod loves to sing Motown and Soul and he does it very very well. I've seen him live more times than I can count and he always puts in a special Motown/Soul song that you have to really search his discography to find - like "Midnight Hour". I heard this at one of his concerts and it really was one of the very best ever. You should look for the 25th Anniversary of the Apollo Theater and see him sing Otis Redding's "Sitting on the Dock of the Bay". Excellent. I've been suggesting you react to his duet with Tina Turner "It Takes Two". It is on both of their individual albums and it's "fire" too. Just for Jay - watch the live concert video of Rod and Tina doing "Hot Legs". Woohoo!
I recommend Every Picture Tells a Story or Mandolin Wind next from Rod. I so love Rod. Saw him again last summer and he still sounds great.
Love, love Rod even in late 70's.
Going to see him again live Upstate NY on September 1st.
Love love this one!!! ❤
Rod Stewart and The Temptations....The Motown song.
PERFECT!! Yall should also check out Rod and Tina Turner doing HOT LEGS when she joined him on stage at one of his concerts.
Another great duet, Tina Turner and Brian Adams! " It's only love, fantastic song! And, you need to watch the live version!
Simply g8 my mother is 85 and i know this music is right up her street
I couldn't hit that play button fast enough. Love this song!!! Try Phil Collins and Philip Bailey Easy Lover next.
The Motown song with Rod Stewart and the Temptations is a good one too
TY Guys love me some Rod Stewart, my wife and I went to see him recently when he was doing shows in Sydney and he still has it to put on a wonderful show full of all his old and new hits, it was wonderful. And to show the down to earth man he truly is I read where he went out shopping and dropped into a hobby store to buys some trains etc for his collection surprising all the staff and spending a good hour with them just chatting and joking. For another Rod reaction I recommend checking out his version of "Downtown Train" it is fantastic.
Keep Safe Keep Strong 🦘🦘🦘🦘🎶🎶🎶🎶💖💖💖💖
"You Wear it Well" is another great song by Rod...also, "Infatuation". Love that side of Rod.
Great duos you can react to:
After all - Peter Cetera and Cher
Surrender to me - Ann Wilson and Robin Zander
Almost paradise - Ann Wilson and Mike Reno
Don't let the sun go down on me - George Michael and Elton John
Dancing in the streets - Mick Jagger and David Bowie
There are tons more, but those are the ones that popped into my head right now
George and Elton for sure. Live version of DON'T LET THE SUN GO DOWN ON ME. A must hear song. Been requesting this one forever.
Rod is always cool
I forgot about this song!! I love it!!
Another unique pairing and a song I think you'd really like is 'When Love Comes To Town' by U2 and B.B. King
Yes,fantastic pairing!
Never been a big fan of Rod but i did love his American Song Book series of albums
When Pat Riley was coaching his home games in the NBA, he had a superstition that he couldn’t come on the court before the game unless this song was playing.
Rod-"first cut is the deepest"
Love love love this song! So catchy with a feel good vibe. They sound awesome together.
Rod Stewart Duet With Cher - Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered
Great suggestion 💖💖💖
Stevie Wonder and Paul McCarthy - Ebony and Ivory is a must
This song is THE DEFINITION OF VIBE
I love this song, and great cover!!! It's such a awesome Motown song!!!! Funny one of my favorite covers of this is by Wild Cherry who sang Olay That Funky Music! ❤❤❤❤❤
Saw both these iconic singers, The Isley Brothers and Rod Stewart! Put them together and you have excellence😊
I remember buying the Isley brothers first vinyl album when I was a teenager. Yes, I am that old. Fabulous nostalgia brings memories of mini skirts, over the knee suede boots, plastic Mary Quant coats (Macs), my Lambretta LI 150cc scooter ....and light up dance floors....such good times 🎉❤
Unique Duet: Rod Stewart and Queen Latifah singing As Time Goes By
I've been waiting patiently for ya'll to get to this.
thanks for this! Any Isley Brother with Rod Stewart is going to be a winning combination. And I love this song...and this version is every bit as good as the original Isley Brother's track from 1966.
Rod Stewart did several groupings of old classic crooner songs. My Mom at 80 yr old loved listening to him.
Wonderful song, touches my ❤️🫵
Rod Stewart can sing anything ...
Can't go wrong with Rod, in my book.
And the Isley Brothers doing "Shout" is beyond description. I hope you give it a listen soon.
I love this song, listen to it often too.
This is an old Isley Brothers song! You've really been sleeping on the Isley's. "Shout" and "Twist and Shout" are two iconic early rock songs from the 50's. Yes, the Isley Brothers have been around in some form since the 50's AND STILL TOURING!
I laughed when he said we got to get you a dress like that. She would look so gorgeous.
Rod is in my top ten. My babysitter used to wake us to his music.
Fantastic! Thank you! Smiling!
OMG, OMG OMG OMG OMG..... He has amazing songs!!!!! Amazing...... Please try.....My heart can't tell you no.
Or
I'm lost in you

Diana Ross & Marvin Gaye-My Mistake (Was To Love You)
The Motown Song is a fabulous collaboration between Stewart and The Temptations. Just a serious bop.
Rod Stewart and the Temptations....cannot go wrong.
You two are such lovebirds!
This is a MOTOWN sound fire, baby!
sounds great
One of my favorite Isley Brothers songs. This is a good cover version.
