Hey Jonny, glad to see Jimmy getting some love here, not many are as passionate about flutes as he is. I have a few of his flutes in my connection, simple flutes with a great voice. He has a contrabass line that is very approachable for a wide range of hand sizes.

Beautiful! What would be the difference between using western cesar and eastern cedar for making a flute? Thank you! Keep up the great work!
There could be others here who are flute makers for input, but generally western red cedar is a softer wood than eastern. It could produce a much softer tone than eastern red cedar but so much is involved in the flute build and voicing, that you might need to have 2 flutes from the same maker for that comparison. Western Red Cedar is much softer than Eastern and will dent and scratch much easier from a care perspective. They are both traditional and very common woods for Native flutes.
