  • Welcome back to a Levo's Angling Adventures on the Holderness Coast - East Yorkshire at Spurn Road its a very special place to me and my family as we have lots of happy memories of fishing, swimming, picnics etc.
It was great to get back bait digging and fishing down Spurn and catching fish including codling.
    Notes
I did some bait digging at boards collected 50 blow lug worm.
Then went down the Road to fish the weather started ok on the South West until it changed fresh Southerly which was a pain but at least the weed held off.I had 16 cast and 16 fish all on straight worm and Lug/Squid cocktails.
I was trying to cast the Fixed spool reel at the bottom didn't like it to heavy for getting my left arm up but I really enjoyed making this video

Great memories Levo. You have had me with tears in my eyes. I used to drive down to Spurn with my (now deceased) father in law. When the sea side was too rough we used to fish the river for flatties. It was a long trek from Nottinghamshire we had to make the most of our visits. Many a pint and meal had at the Crown and Anchor.
I am now suffering from cancer and my fishing days are in the past for the moment. I look forward to good news so I can at least go the Kilnsea or Easington. Thanks again.

I can remember one night on Spurn Road in the 90’s we were trying to get my Tilley lamp lit and we ran out of matches. Just behind us a low budget horror movie was being filmed. All dry ice smoke and bad make up and costumes. My father in law interrupted them to ask for a light! I can’t tell you what they said to him!

Another time my father in law (Joel) was reversing out of one of the little parking spots on Spurn Road and a birdwatcher appeared from nowhere and nearly went under the rear wheels. “Watch where you’re bloody going!” shouted Joel. “Sorry, sorry,” said the birdwatcher.
“You do know who that was you nearly flattened?” I asked. “No idea.” said Joel.

Absolutely brilliant. Very well done for taking the time/effort getting to Spurn. It brought back a lot of memories for me going back to the 70,s. Used to base camp in one of the concrete bunks near lighthouse and fish for three or four days, back then you could catch decent size fish. You have made an old man ( who stills go fishing at 76 young ) very happy, thank you.

Me and my mate Brodders used to fish inside spurn at post 35 all the time for the flounder and bass and on point.
It's an amazing place, just a shame they have denied us all access in our cars as it's put it out of bounds for allot of anglers now.
Have a story to tell about point but too much to go into on here, many thanks for showing me what was once a common place to go and fish.

The mark i fish regulary in the winter is 15miles round trip . I try to go as light as i can. I still take 2 rods brolly tripod buckets n back pack. I'm 50 this year and it was starting taking toll . So i saved up and just before xmas got a electric mountain bike. Its heaven john i'm not sweating and puffing and panting when head wind. Ive got a grandson who was 4 in november and he has completley put a different mindset in me, brilliant. Look forward to your next vid john . All the best from GRIMSBY matey

    Fantastic video. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I’m going to fish spurn point.
Would you recommend any particular spot? I know you like telegraph 45, any other hot spots?
Is there any particular tide size or wind direction when is best and worst time to fish spurn point.
I will be using a push bike with fat tires so happy to go wherever.
Does distance matter with casting or close in ?
Keep up the good work, loving these videos 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

We used to dig worms on a sat morning and walk across to the sea side to fish afternoon tides. Great times. Fabulous video again John and definitely your best yet, you should be extremely proud of it, I loved the camera work, you’re improving with every video you post and looking more and more confident in front of the camera, you definitely can’t be accused of fishing the same marks all of the time that’s for sure, one last thing when collecting worms what decides whether you pump or dig? 👍🏻

Well again what can I say what a Absolutely amazing comment I am so pleased you enjoyed it thank you for the very kind supportive words I am overwhelmed it means so much buddy 👏👍
I am trying to video different venues to keep the content interesting. Regarding the worm collection, the Spurn blow lug tend to lie in a u shape in the sand so I find them easier to dig. I've never tried to pump the worms on Spurn to be TBH.
When I am collecting yellow tails and black lug like in the Skipsea video I use my pump as there lie mostly vertical.
Again cheers buddy for the awesome comment 👏 tight lines from John Tina and Thomas 🎣 👍
