  • Violence against Black people-both physical and psychological-has seemed only to increase in recent years, culminating in the historic pandemic and protests in the summer of 2020. “After centuries of waiting for white majorities to overturn white supremacy,” Charles Blow writes, “ it seems to me that it has fallen to Black people to do it themselves.”
    A New York Times op-ed columnist, Blow felt compelled to write a new story for Black Americans, one that involves a succinct, counterintuitive and impassioned correction to the myths that have for too long governed our thinking about race and geography in America. The Devil You Know is a grand exhortation to generations of a people, proposing nothing short of the most audacious power play by Black people in the history of this country.
    Join us as Charles Blow offers a road map to true and lasting freedom.

    Melissa Murray is one of the Black intellectual that she says Mr. Blow has a distain for. She’s the type of Black person that measures Black progress as the our ability to make white people “accept” us. Mr. Blow did an excellent job standing on business!!

      Yeap ! She thinks NORTH good, south bad !! While ignoring how black Americans (descendants of USA chattel slavery) have no power outside the south

    Florida is NOT the south. Culturally at that. It’s a haven for Black Caribbean people, but the focus states should be Maryland, Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Washington DC as these states are closer to black majority than the other states in the south.

      DC is not a state 🥴🥴, and yeah Florida & Texas are not our states! Black Americans are only regulated to one region of Florida (north Florida) & one region of Texas (east Texas)

    I have to say, Melissa Murray is asking Charles Blow very difficult questions & he is answering them quite well. I would be behind Charles Blow 100% if he could give some type of recognition to my work. Black American Homeland is no utopia however, Black state officials to set laws & regulations to help Black own Corporations, Firms, Professionals & regular Black Americans compete successfully with other groups.

    Read Charles Blow’s work and add Neely Fuller Jr. to the list, put the knowledge to work, and we will defeat WS.

    Very interesting but I think you are wrong about it not being important for new authors to rephrase ideas that have been around for centuries. Academics do this all the time - it brings the ideas to new readers and speaks in a language that they better understand, citing works they recognise along with the original authors from long ago. This is very important, and if important in academia I think just as or more important in more popular works.

      I chatted with Charles Blow about the Black American Homeland on twitter in 2015. He wasn't a supporter of the idea in 2015. He published a book The Devil You Know in Jan 2021.

    @21:54 - I can confirm for you Mr. Blow, the Police Departments here in the South are militarized.

    • @javionriley8739
      @javionriley8739 Před 6 měsíci

      All police departments are militarized. The only difference is that in the south majority of the police departments are black rather in a majority black rural county suburbs and big cities. What’s your point

      @@javionriley8739 majority black???? What America do you live in?? Are there black police chiefs, yes. Do they make up the majority ANYWHERE?? Hell no….

    Plan is on point but I'd like to see it done in house with news being released only to the extent those involved want it released, We blacks tell too much of our business. It's a great idea and I feel it can succeed.
