If a sculptor manufactures their kits using a Chinese company and they don't get the correct copyrights for China. Then the sculpts aren't stolen, in the Chinese contracts they reserve the right make so many copies of the original for themselves. Little Wattle Nursery has a whole series on it. Kitty works with contract laws and knows what's she is saying.

I would like to make some corrections to your statement about what information was included in my 6 part video series on Manufacturing in China because it's not entirely accurate.
Manufacturing in a foreign country like China is a complex process and should not be undertaken without seeking proper legal advice, prior to engaging with a Chinese factory.
It is optional to register Copyrights and other Intellectual Property in China. If you do not register your Intellectual Property in China, there is a very high risk that your Intellectual Property can be "legally stolen". It is quite a common practice in China where certain companies and factories will check to see if their customers have registered their IP in China. If they find they haven't, they will register it for themselves, hence making them the "legal owner" of the IP in China.
The Chinese courts also do not recognise most foreign Intellectual Property rights, nor do they recognise factory contracts not written in Chinese and endorsed in China. If a sculptor has not registered their IP in China and does not have iron-clad manufacturing contracts wriitten in dual languages (English/Chinese) that states they are the rightful owner of the finished product being manufactured, then they put themselves at a very high risk of having the IP stolen.

@@LittleWattleNursery wow very informative. Let me ask a follow up question to make sure I understand. If I create a sculpture regardless if I live in china or not, and they come across my sculpture and I haven’t registered IP they can steal it with out any compensation to me/ creator?

@@LaliFrequency432HZ There is that risk yes is what @littlewattlesnursery is saying... which is why I won't now sculpt myself... alot of $$$$ go into protecting work from legal advise to registering work to protect it in both my country being Australia and China where the sculpt would be manufactured into vinyl dolls... so both an Australian and a chinese lawyer would have to be involved for dual language written contracts...

It takes time to be knowledgeable about anything. A few tips if it looks too good to be true it is, if you are looking at a reborn dolls pictures and it really well made but they only want 45 bucks for it, it’s probably a replica. Look at reviews if you buy from Amazon or you could also do a picture search with google to see if the picture pops up anywhere else, we have to treat this pictures like Catfish haha you have to research then research some more. At the end of the day just buy what you like but just investigate don’t take someone’s word for it. Snug a bug reborn has been a blessing for me and they take layaway
