This is my birth vlog. What a special and wild story! Today I take you along for part of labor and delivery day! Then we debrief and talk about all the nitty gritty including Josh having to catch the baby! I am the most stoic person ever and rarely cry....I stopped cramming white cheddar corn puffs in my mouth after a frustrating day of work and my eyes were stinging -and I was motionless, hand in mid air with lonely cheese puff while I heard a Godly man praying in earnest for the situation at hand. ❤.

My baby was IUGR, starting at about 37 weeks. They induced me at 38 weeks, and praise the Lord they did! Her cord was tied in a knot, wrapped around her neck twice, arm once, and body once. I'm so thankful for the medical intervention at times like this. We now have a healthy little 7 month old!
Oh my goodness, your situation is so similar to mine. My daughter had no heartbeat at birth and for 7 minutes after until she was resuscitated (they had to shock her twice). It was absolutely devastating yet beautiful because I finally got to meet her. I’m equally thankful for the efforts everyone made to save my precious daughter. She has been perfectly healthy since and is now expecting her 3rd little girl at 33❤❤❤

Don't apologize for crying. My children are 29 and 25. I still tear up when thinking about what a miracle God has given me twice!! I teach pre-k and just today I was reading a story to my students that my daughter had gotten in her baby book club. It brought tears to my eyes as I thought about reading her that sweet story!
It’s always incredible to see how God comes through for us, even when we have prayers we hope to see answered, but don’t feel able to see that a reality!!! He is SO faithful!!! As a young woman wanting a family so much, it’s always touching to see your heart touched with the little…and not so little miracles.❤

I am so happy for your beautiful healthy boy! Truly blessed! One of my biggest heartbreaks is that I can't get pregnant but I have two beautiful twin boys that came to me when they were one year old and it truly feels like that was Gods plan because they needed someone to see them and love them and give them everything and I do and really have so much love to give them. Maybe I wouldn't have if I had been able to bear my own.
5 minutes in and I was already crying with you!!! I relate so much to the struggle after 20 weeks with suspected complications! My daughter did end up having a birth defect & disability, but she is still such a precious gift. ❤️❤️ what a blessing your sweet boy is, our God is so great! congratulations!

My daughter just had baby boy #2 Monday morning. She had some complications that were almost identical to complications I had when I gave birth to her. Thankfully she was able to get through it and they were able to come home the day after he was born.
Her first baby had a heart defect and that pregnancy was very scary for her but he was born and able to have a life saving surgery at 1.5 years old so it was a blessing. God has been so good to our family.

I've been anxiously waiting for this video. I guess none of us realized that your second 20 weeks were so stressful. I think it is so commendable that in spite of your concerns, you still had a positive attitude through all your videos. You werent whining, complaining or pitying yourself. A couple comments in the past few months made me wonder if you were keeping some of your concerns to yourself but I think you showed a beautiful example of being positive during it all and that couldnt have been easy. I'm so thankful for your healthy baby and pray God continues to bless your family.

My DIL has been going through this exact same thing with her pregnancy, growth restricted and fluctuating between 4-5th %tile. Two ultrasounds every week since 24 weeks. They will induce her next Thursday at 38 weeks. It's been quite a roller coaster, but we're thankful that the baby is healthy and weighing over 5 pounds. So happy for you that your baby arrived safe and healthy!

My baby is 23 with 2 babies of her own.. im always amazed at my kids.. and yes I stare at them to this day and can't believe how blessed I am. 3 kids and now have 3 grandkids and one on the way.. God is great and does amazing things!!

As a former L and D nurse, my first thought for a mom of three would not have been to put the monitor on during that moment but to check for an imminent delivery🥰 Also, I’m like you , I had three induced labors and often felt cheated that I didn’t get to experience going into labor spontaneously
Same - all three induced! 😂
Having had one induced and one spontaneous - it’s really not that different!
About the only major difference for me was laboring some of the time at home vs in the hospital.
Once it gets going, it’s very similar!

I did not realize how stressful and difficult this pregnancy was for you, I am so sorry! Pregnancy in and of itself is such a tender time with not knowing what’s happening and how things are going to go. I just say your video taking about your anxiety for your newborn while you were all ill and I totally understand why! Postpartum is so difficult with your hormones just going wild, and then having a difficult pregnancy behind you I’m sure that would ramp anxiety way up!
When my son was born we were told he might have an infection, due to his lowish breathing rate, and even though they told me that the worst that could happen was the would be given antibiotics, but still I was just weeping with anxiety and fear! It’s just a tender and difficult time. Thank you for the beautiful verses in the beginning of this video, now is a perfect time to lean more than ever on the Lord.

Hi Megan! I've never commented before, but I love watching your videos each week! I just had a baby girl on Jan 26, so it's been fun following your pregnancy at the same time. She is my 3rd and I've been induced twice now because my water always ends up leaking. My nurse told me having the IV with fluids helps your uterus contract properly because you're better hydrated? I'm glad you made it back to the bed from the bathroom! My births have been quick and my second was born in the bathroom! The doctor always barely makes it to catch the baby. My husband and nurse always have to be on deck to catch the baby. This baby was 9lbs 1oz. So I'm one of those with the big babies! We had to do the glucose tests too because she was so big. It was so stressful because she failed twice, but thankfully we avoided the NICU too. Congrats! It's so nice to be home and cuddling your baby. Happy for you that you made it to that!
Oh Megan - you had me in tears right from the start of this your most beautiful video. The scripture you quoted, finding out you were pregnant, then there were four and the beautiful scene between Josh & Evonnie. But most wonderful - your statement about being the mother of boys and the impact you - as a mother raising those boys - has for the future of our world. AMEN!!! I too am the mother of boys …. Fascinating birth story Megan, I very much enjoyed listening! I am 38 weeks today and on pins and needles waiting for our little one to arrive (4th as well!) . I’m pregnant with #3 (kind of just happened without expecting it as our second was an IVF baby) and you just adjust with it! It will all work out. If you are even considering it, I say go for it! ❤
This is my favorite birth story ever!!! I understand so much all your emotions. I still have not recovered from 2 horrible traumatic and gut wrenching pregnancies, birth, and recoveries. Including a FOUR day labor with severe pain induction ending in emergency c sections with hemorrhages. The list goes on and on. Its very painful to relive it so i try not to and focus on how GREAT OUR GOD IS to get me and my precious babies through that alive. My second baby is 9 months and it still feels like it was yesterday. I'm holding her now as she is still up most of the night but we've been through so much, God will surely carry us through the rest. I dont feel as alone watching the tears of sadness, relief, and gratitude roll down your face. Thank you for sharing your heart with us. God is using you for His glory. Heavenly Father please heal this family of the flu quickly and protect sweet Baylor from illness. In Jesus' name, Amen 🙏 ❤
Hello! Commiserations on the four day labour, mine was just shy of 100 hours of regular contractions with zero dilation 😅 it is such, such a long time. I only just managed to push at the end but I was so tired told the midwife to pull the placenta out cause I was completely spent.
It was God alone that got me though, praise His kindness ❤

Gosh, Megan I hate you have to deal with those feelings of anxiousness but it does help me to know I’m not alone.
I never understand how all these moms are so laid back and giddy. I’m so anxious and nervous it makes me sick! I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant with my 5th and have to pray and quote scripture often to keep my nerves in check and to keep my mind on trusting the Lord!
Love a new life! 🩵 And here I am so thankful for 2/2 csections, 2/2 NICU stays, a 9 lb and 11lb baby, allllll the medical intervention. The medical care gives me comfort - God gave providers knowledge and wisdom! I’m so thankful.

With my first born, I visualised with every contraction that I was watching a marathon and a group of people was running by. First I saw them from a distance, and then closer and after a while they would pass by. To keep myself distracted I started visualising other things running by, such as all kinds of animals and even household objects and vegetables 😂 It worked amazing!

Congratulations on a healthy birth of an adorable little fella! When you start talking about choosing his name I wondered if it was going to be another "occupation" name like your other boys, and it kinda is! A fletcher makes archery items, a miller grinds seeds into flour, and a baler (Baylor) cuts and compresses hay/flax/cotton/etc into bales for storage and transport. I'm so glad everything went well for you all, and kudos to Josh for rising to the occasion and catching Baylor, literally guiding him into the world!

We went through the same exact thing with all 3 kids in growth!! Some people just have smaller babies. It can be scary, though.
Also my body woupd never go into labor on its own either! We just put our trust and faith in God and he took care of us each time❤
It's such a journey each time!
I have 6 kids here and 10 babies in heaven. One of mine was a Cytotec - no pitocin induction. One was a c section. The rest was completely natural. I've had one each of each gestational week from 34 to 39.

I’m thinking that like the midwife said, baby won’t come if your anxious, but once you forced relaxed, baby decided to come. So glad all turned out well and you have another little one to love ❤

I am one of those who had two 9+ pound babies and I will tell you we’re about the same size, and I ate like a giant sow when I was pregnant both times 😂😂 I am always amazed at your portions when pregnant 😁🤣 I think I’ll consider it a fruit of the spirit that you have self control during pregnancy. I personally think that is why your babies are on the small side 😄😊

Literally every medical provider should be like this and so much more. You can say NO to whatever you don’t want!
You can say no to anything, they are there to assist you. You can choose every step and decline anything. I had zero cervical checks, I chose not to have the baby heart monitor on. And to have no one but my husband in the room until I was nearly crowning (with the first two) third was a home birth (ending in basically a free birth, bub came before the midwife arrived 😅)
What are they usually like in the states? Thats how all my births were in New Zealand, with low lighting, music I chose and no cervical checks until/ unless I requested them.
@@keirajones5062US as a whole tends to be higher intervention. They ask beforehand but for the women that want as minimal intervention as possible they can go to what’s called a birthing center which is like home birth but in a center with midwives etc or you can even do just a home birth. There are many options. Those of us who choose to birth in a hospital generally prefer the safety aspect of having all the options available. I’ve always been asked I think - I’m more of the trust the medical team and lay back type so I don’t totally remember.

Oh Megan, I'm watching this and crying along with every word! Hearing you say Psalm 139 and Josh praying touched my soul. When you talked about the dark time with anxiety, it made me feel so seen as I have been there too. It was a different situation, but all the same feelings that the dark pit of anxiety brings and the guilt that is most definitely not from God but twists our minds. You are so brave! During my pregnancy my little boy also measured small with ultrasounds all the time to monitor him! He was born at 6lbs and was so tiny! Fast forward he’s now 10 years old 5 foot 2 and 119 pounds. It’s almost unbelievable how big he is now 🙂 congratulations on your new little one 🩷

I also had 4 children- 3 were induced and the last one was a c-section because even after a procedure to flip him a few weeks before, he wanted to come out feet first. Every birth had some type of small drama, but nothing life threatening. Everything surrounding birth is a miracle! You have a precious little family.

YES! What you said about the membrane sweeps! The first midwife had sausage fingers and killed me. A second midwife tried and it was successful. Ask who is good at them!
