      The Vampire Spawn who looks at everyone in camp like their a walking delicacy.
      The warlock who, thanks to The Dark Urge, is no longer trying to kill you. (Try and wrap your head around that one)

    Astarion is so wholesome with a Dark Urge best friend or lover. Spawn Astarion and Durge is literally the greatest romance in the game. He's so supportive, bless him.
    *SPOILERS BELOW*
    Incidentally, does anyone believe Dark Urge is immortal? Obviously, other Bhaalspawn were conceived with mortal women, but Durge was different and created from Bhaal alone. And after resurrection (if rejecting Bhaal) you are told that you will not succumb to death as long as your godly companion (iykyk) 'Withers' endures.

    • @Saretz
      @Saretz  Před 9 měsíci +30

      I absolutely agree, Astarion has THE more/better developed relationship with Durge, regardless of statuses, so many wholesome moments.
      And to answer your question, obviously we can only speculate, but that, to me, sounds like a good setup for the next adventure, I wouldn't mind a "power reset back to lvl 1" situation, if it helped start off a new series of games. I was very bothered how major events/twists like this didn't provoke more dialogue with the companions. 😔They might say something quite huge and you've no option to respond or talk to them about it. I mean, the companions get to unburden themselves on Durge/Tav, but our character get hardly any options to do the same. I understand it can't be custom made, since it's a dialogue tree, but some options would've been nice, like what they did in the Astarion conversation. He actually asked how we felt about it! I really wished my other companions had asked something and not just... made a slightly stunned statement.
    Gale's was the most underwhelming, so I can't imagine romancing him as a Durge x.x "Gosh. Better be careful." GEE, THANKS DEAR. 😂 That's the most generic, understated reaction possible, I think.
    Then there's Wyll*, who just kinda preaches a heroic speech at you and isn't interested in how you feel at all. Out of all the characters, only Astarion (whether or not you've romanced him) gives enough of a shit. :S
    They've added dialogue in the past (like in patch 5) so I really hope they polish up these things over time. 😓
    **Side-rant on Wyll, because this is an issue with him overall: I romanced him when I was playing my first Durge, cus I thought it'd be an interesting dynamic to have a Durge villain arc alongside Wyll, I thought it'd be a great tragedy and that he'd react... more to it. But it's like his resolve is hardly moved by anything. It was very disappointing, all the way to the end of their romance. They really did his character dirty by not putting in more effort. It almost feels like a case of "Model Minority"... because he's seemingly completely unflawed? All his problems and challenges appear to be external, while internally he doesn't go through any changes. He is the same dude in Act 3 as he was in Act 1. Even when he's confronted with his FATHER who exiled him, he's still super chill and has no difficulty getting past it, and there's hardly ANY emotion in response to whatever his father says. He's all like "Dad, it's cool, really, I understand, you couldn't have known :) seriously, I don't feel anything. so anyway"

    • @Saretz
      @Saretz  Před 5 měsíci +1

      I feel like the problem with Wyll came from their sudden decision to (rightly so) rewrite his story, as he already wasn't pleasing people in early access, so that might be why he is that way unfortunately

    • @_lionheart_
      @_lionheart_ Před 4 měsíci +1

      Wyll is such an aggravating character because even as he currently is, there is a lot of potential for him to be interesting. I actually do think he's flawed in how he criticizes others who compromise themselves and their well-being for the greater good. Snorting the tadpoles, for example, in my run was not because I wanted the "cool Illithid domination powers!" but because I wanted to be stronger and more persuasive so I could do everything in my power to protect my companions. Wyll frowned upon decisions like that despite y'know selling his SOUL for the greater good. Maybe it's because he sees himself when characters sacrifice those important pieces of themselves and I think that's great writing ...But I wish we could actually CONFRONT him about this! Instead, he just gets to make really self-righteous comments without ever actually letting us pushback???

      @@Saretz Within the D&D canon (basically, what the rulebooks have made official and not what can happen in the game), Bhaal's resurrection was apparently stopped with Throne of Bhaal by destroying his essence BUT there was another surviving Bhaalspawn besides the MC (and Imoen). Many years later, like 30 or so, that same Bhaalspawn attacked the BG1&2 MC in the middle of the city. Nobody knows what happened exactly in the battle of the two, but a monster arose from the winner and was later defeated. Defeating it essentially gave the push needed for Bhaal to return, but much diminished and not nearly as strong as he would have been with a perfect resurrection. He is now a quasi-god, which means he is mortal despite his deity status.

      @@AlcheaNemesis That's very informative, thank you for letting me know! I'm considering uploading the "Tribunal of Murder" from BG3, I don't know if I'm spoiling you anything so I'll leave it there, but if you know what I'm talking about, I'd like to know if that is also canonically possible/correct.

    Do Halsin, Jaheira and Minsc not react to the news at all?

      Didn't have Halsin in party at the time, but I remember Jaheira saying nothing after this - Minsc reaction is impossible to get, since this cutscene will always be a forced trigger way before you can recruit him

    Wait, what about halsin? 😐😐😐😐😐

      Didn't have him in the party at the time, or another run with it, video's 6 months old so not enough playthroughs nor the changes to Minthara recruitment

      i just played this scene for myself about 10 minutes ago and halsin’s reaction was pretty much “damn, you should be careful who you tell about this.” i found it to be one of the more underwhelming reactions
