I have to say really, i was a big SpongeBob Fan, i had DVDs, a DVD video Game, Radio plays CDs and then also this game on cartridge. "SpongeBob SquarePants - SuperSponge" is after "SpongeBob SquarePants: Legend of the Lost Spatula" the second game of the SpongeBob video game series, it cames 2001 for PlayStation and GBA. This game is not so long - 5 Chapters each 4 Levels and the last has always a boss.
Just like the SNES Games from Infogrammes has this game also Passwords. For the SNES there was from Nickelodeon "AAAHH!!! Real Monsters", "Nickelodeon Guts", "Rocko's Modern Life: Spunky's Dangerous Day" and four games from the first Nickelodeon TV cartoon series "The Ren & Stimpy Show" from 1992.
The TV cartoon series "SpongeBob SquarePants" cames in America 1999 on TV. In my country Germany comes the series only in August 2002 under the name "SpongeBob Schwammkopf" the first time on SUPER RTL until the end of Juny 2009. The series has over 150 episodes, the most episodes are two in one. SUPER RTL took up episode 73. Took over from episode 74 of Nickelodeon. There was even a station them in Germany from 1995 to 1998 as "Nickelodeon Deutschland". On September 12, 2005 came the first broadcast of the new "Nickelodeon" in Germany then known as "Nick", at the end of March 2010 was it then "Nickelodeon".
P.S. I'm also a REALLY BIG Nickelodeon fan. Good Cartoons, good sitcoms and good job guys! -

Playing this game as a kid, I can guarantee the game is a LOT harder than the guy in the video is making it look like.
I just emulated the game and lost 8 lives in a row trying to get past the thin jump part on lava fields, That part ain’t no joke 😀

I slap him and his life never goes down, and in the meantime all those blue sticks that he throws knock me down in matter of seconds. I feel the impulse to go down the street and throw my gamepad in someone's face, really...
As a kid I never got past chapter 1 but I just played through the game for the first time in YEARS and I finished it in under an hour 🥲
Honestly the game is really easy. The only somewhat challenging part was the fire level with the small platforms but that’s about it
I remember how stressful the enemies were bc they were glitchy so you would get hit a lot. This game made up so much of my childhood

If only this game can let you keep and switch weapons on the fly...

This is such a unique era in video games. The glut of license games with unique styles and takes on franchises that seem quaint in contrast to the image said franchises give off now. There are suggestions of a resurgence of this with The Cosmic Shake, but for me, the GBA graphics and bare-bones plots will always hold their own charm.

In the "CLMB" level there's a helmet in the tree that's hidden that you can get so you don't have to worry about how much water you have left

I remember almost beating this game on my Gameboy at my grandmothers house in her backyard one summer day. They I let my uncle see it and he accidentally turned the game off. I was so mad because I didn’t write passwords down. This was around 2004

Its an emulator issue, the Jellyfish platform blinks fine if you are playing the game at 60 frames per second.

I had this game on my Game Boy Advance like 14 years ago. One thing I didn’t like about this game was the password system. Why couldn’t they just use the traditional “Save Game” option?
I think Battery Backup Saving is a bit more costly for game cartridges and many licensed GBA games were arguably made with a smaller budget
Pac Man World 2 for the GBA also has an password saving system, despite been released in 2005. 😅

I remember that episode. It's called "Sailor Mouth". And wow, what an episode. It's all about what you've said, SpongeBob and Patrick learning a new word, then hilarity ensues when they said bad word #11 to the costumers, and then to Betsy Krabs. That was a classic. 😄

I use to play this game and like everyone else here this is a piece of my childhood for me. But i gotta admit the game seems a bit trippy in hindsight due to the environments and some of the enemies

This was one of my favorite GBA games as a kid (and still play it on occasion)! I love the different environments and the entire soundtrack slaps. My favorite levels were the Oil Rig, Lava Fields and Inside the Whale.
How about favorite music peices... level 1 and 2 (jellyfish fields and sandy's tree dome) is mine... extremely rememberable

There's a lot of lincensed games, based on TV's/Movie tie-in for the GBA released, over the years, until the GBA had got terminated on late 2008...
