I’m two years late but can we talk about ur privacy fence .. genius ❤
I like it, I told Terrie we need that hillbilly pool in our lives
I need it too. Lol my grandsons would love it
I hate putting holes in things…this looks like something I can do! Thanks!
Oh I love that! I bet it feels good after working outside all day.
I liked your straightforward video on upgrades to y'all's, Stock Tank Pool!
Well done!
Don’t you just love when a project comes together smoothly!!!!
YES!! and the end result is so easy to take care of!!
Great idea guys, thank you so much for sharing!! I completely agree Chrissy, it cost to dang much to be putting holes in it!! ENJOY👍🙋♀️🍻
TOO COOL, Great job and Yes to Pool Noodles. Thank You for Sharing 💐💕🌻🙋
Loved the homestead pool idea. A pool for less than $700. That cool.
I totally agree with you on the holes!
That looks awesome. Nice job.
That is awesome addition to the stock tank system 🤙🏼😁👍🏼 Love it 🥰
Thanks 👍its working good so far! xo
Thank you, thank you!!
Liked seeing the parts. I have just picked up a 8 ft. poly stock tank and changed the drain plug for a 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 male cam lock with a cap for now. When the pump and filter arrive the drain will feed the pump and I like your led fountain feeding the pool.
Can you share a picture of the male cam please, I am a newby.
Haha you asked Preston to get a flat screwdriver and not the “crisscross “ one. 😂 I smiled...I call it “4 way screwdriver “ 😂😂😂😂 Love the new water return.
I also found to use elbow pvc pipe to hook onto the pool then attach a straight pipe to go down into the tub. I also like the fountain look as well. Thanks to you I have enough information to make my purchase. I don't want to drill either. Please keep sharing updates.
Love it 💞👍. FYI...out of the hospital...so will be slowly but surely doing a catch-up on all your videos...take care my friend 🤗💞👍
This is the CONNECTOR PIECE I used for the SKimmer!! THanks to an amazing viewer that finally found the piece!! amzn.to/3OfSBeg
Great ingenuity guys lol it works just fine . How about that !!! Nice Chrissy
This is great! I would love to do this!
Nice pool thanks for sharing God bless you always
Thanks for visiting! I try to do several stock tank pool videos per season :)
What a great idea, :) Hey when you want to beat this heat eh you do what you can.
I'm using hose clamps with a magnetic clip to hold the intake hose in place
That’s such a great idea!
Great job y'all! Don't need no stinking instructions! Love the waterfall. ❤ Do you cover your pool?
I’ve got a slab of granite and some flint stepping stones I’m going to make a waterfall...but that looks so great!!!!
Just found U. Subscribed and all notifications !!! Im so jealous U are living my dream. Great husband and kids i got, thankfully. Your barn house with attached work shop/ garage, acreage and stock tank pool, what more does a mama need !!! I need to watch more of u and your life which unfortunately make me more jealous/invidious at the same time. But I'm still gonna watch. Lol. Thx, Angie from Ohio
Thanks so much Angie!! The Barndo has been on our dreams list for over 20 years! We finally were in a position with land to go for it;) and then you know chickens turn to goats and any other feathered animal, a pig, a donkey etc LOL. It’s a great place!
Love it 🥰!
Very cool! Good idea on the gadgets
Thank you for your video. We just finished up ours and used all the same parts! No holes!
Yay!! It’s so exciting!! My poor tank needs som TLC!! I need to get it up and going this weekend;)
How do you like yours?
Jennifer did you have one of those adapter to hook the skimmer up and if so do you have a name for it
@@williambaker577 I did have one from the sand pump kit. I have no idea the name though.
Nice job
Awesome ❤🤗
I like that idea!!! Maybe use those pool noodle and cut the same length to hold those pool accessories in place. That’s what I’m gonna do.
Loved your video 👍
Awesome thank You so much
You are very welcome! Hope it gives you a few ideas :)
Hi I am new. I seen you on simple living and cmon homestead. I Love the pool gives me great ideas.
Sweet ! Love a good wading pool !
Its a game changer up here!! Maybe next time you come down, Frankie can enjoy it too :)
Setting ours up tomorrow!
That’s so exciting!! You will ❤️ it so much!!
Wow those turned out perfect 👊❤️.... Ha just like a man to not read the instructions, but who needs instructions right! 😃.... Listening to Jeromy's commentary had me giggling 🤣
That is so cool 😎
Looks awesome! I imagine it feels even better! SUGGESTION: some pipe insulation or pool noodles slit halfway through & place around the top edge, to rest your head on. Kick back, relax, & enjoy!❤👍❤👍
PS, sometimes a little Lego piece can make the perfect spacer. Also, sometimes a thin dime can do the job of a flat head screwdriver! That's old school I learned from my grandpa. Lol🙂😉👍
I’m ready to see your video of both of you on your floaties!!
Lol!! Not happening!! Haha
lol, I was singin plug it in plug it in as you were! lol... Looking good guys. We might do a similar setup at the ranch to keep us cool. Just need to find a compatible solar setup to run it
Very cool
You both are a great couple. It truly felt like I was listening to friends of mine talk. Earned yourself a new sub.
I drilled holes onto my stock tack pool but I won't have the need for livestock in the future, unless my wife gets her way and gets a whole bunch of sheep like she wants 🤷♂️🤦
Aww! Thanks so much! It has taken 26 years to get to the point where we can work together to put something together!! HAHA! Thank you so much for coming over to our channel! I really appreciate your sweet message!
Love it
Hello from Minnesota!
I refuse to drill holes too.. i love your videos
The hose actually worked now that’s unusual lol at least when we are doing things. That is a nice waterfall 💦
If you split a piece of radiator hose and slip it over the side of that stock tank I think it would work better for the mount.
Thats a great idea!! We have tried all kinds of things!
Just adding I found a magnet with a Velcro strap for intake instead of rock on Amazon. I used the rock for a month or so .
I did bye the pump
And waterfall u have .
That’s really cool!I need a tank now lol what are you using to clean it?
Hi! Do these rust inside? I found some at D&B that are galvanized. Is that the way to go and does it need to have epoxy rolled on it?
The your pump is positioned? Does it get filled up with water? I have the same.. not on the floor like usual.. its only filled halfway but is working good..
Chrissy
Will you have to take it down this winter
Which filter pump are you using?
Omg drill the holes!!! Also what about painting the inside so it doesn't rust?
Does the pool pump filter have to be running continuously for the waterfall to work? I thought you weren’t supposed to be in the pool while the filter is running? I’m getting a stp in a couple of weeks and want a waterfall so bad!
The blue insert in the skimmer basket can only be 2 to 3 inches above the top edge of the outer basket or it doesn’t skim properly. Speaking from experience!
Add pool filter sock to your skimmer and it will catch the even smaller stuff.
Love your video I just have one question how do y’all get the water to flow into the filter? I have a large pool with a new liner but I can’t get any water flow to the filter without poking holes an I don’t want to put holes in the new liner?! If you could tell me how you have yours it’ll really help me out!!!
It’s a pain, you have to prime it so pretty much lift it above your head and run the hose in it until it forms a suction once it does it’s perfect. You can hear the difference in the filter noise.
Great video's, question i have is where did you get and what type of pump are you using for you pool, many thanks Andy in Georgia.
In the description of this video I have a list and link of all the items we used;)
do yall still have this waterfall in use? how has it held up?
I've looked everywhere on line for an adapter like that and can't find one.
use a pool noodle to make it fit on the side. just cut it short and a slit so it grips the pool
I really like your setup without drilling holes. I recently bought a poly stock tank pool by Intex. It has a rim that is flat and wider instead of rounded. Do you think the hanging brackets on the strainer and waterfall are adjustable enough for my pool. I don't want to drill holes either if I can help it. Also, I saw a video of another you tuber that has connecter piece and he mentions where he got if from.
We have to put rubber tube behind the clamp to make it a thicker area to clamp, I want to say the lily pools have a thicker rim?
Can you tell me where that other tuber got his connector piece? I have the same problem with the skimmer not connecting to the pump hose.
I looked on the Intex pool website and called them. I told them the type & model of my Intex filter and they assisted me with ordering the additional parts I needed. I think the part Jeremy said she found in the shop is called a Threaded Strainer Connector. At least that's what its called for an Intex 1500 filter. There's a picture of it on the website under parts for a 1500 filter. I don't know why everything you need isn't included. Also if you look in the filter instruction book it tells you everything you need to set it up. Mine also said which parts were not included. I also ordered shut off valves to attach to the hoses in case I decide to drill holes in the pool. Good luck to us both. I'm setting my poly stock tank pool up tomorrow. 😅. Thanks for the helpful video.
Im looking for that adapter that connects the hoses for your floating surface skimmer, the one that you had hoarded away. Do you have any idea what that's called or where I could find it?
Thanks!
I dont :( I went to the local pool store and I did see them pre cut with fittings in packages or you can have them cut them from rolls, to the size you need. Its a ribbed clear probably 2" or so tubing. Hope this helps
Kevin, if you found one and the name of it could you also tell me. I have the same problem. Thank you
We tried the same intex pump with the hoses over the top of the stock tank but the pump wouldn't prime itself. If we primed it and got good flow, as soon as it turned off for a second, it lost prime and would not regain it. I've looked for airleaks everywhere, sealed every joint with silicon but there don't appear to be any air leaks. Did you have any trouble with it self priming or should I expect it to pick up prime on its own?
Mine stays primed, so when I turn it in it goes automatically. Now when I clean the filter, it takes forever to prime. I have to hold the inlet hose straight and move the pump down to water level and back, sometimes I have to pull the skimmer up quick with water in it to make it prime too
The adapter for the hoses, what is it called? And what size hose is it for? I have ordered all the parts but will be needing the adapter.
I dont know. I had extra pieces from a friends filter she gave me :)
Question for yall. I'm doing a stocktank setup similar to what you have. I'm going to be using a sand filter pump and I don't want to be drilling holes in the stocktank. I've noticed that you just have the intake hoses just going over the side which is what I'm attempting to do. I'm attaching the inlet to the inside wall of the tank with a magnet. Problem I'm having is I'm not getting a prime for the pump. Do you pre prime the pump before you turn it on? Is that pump above the waterline on a table for a reason?
i full the pump and all tubes with water, even though most drains out. I have to turn in the pump and lower it as low as I can so the intake tube is almost even with the waterline to get the form suction, once it does it runs great. Only have to do it when I first put it together in the spring.
@ParagonRidgeRanch That explains alot. I just couldn't get a proper prime and figured that was the issue. Thanks for the reply.
What is the adapter y’all put on the skimmer to hook it to the pump? I have the same problem so I can’t hook it up 😭
That’s a gray question!’ I had it in my barn with a bunch of parts from a friend and her above ground pool!! I really was blessed and have. No idea what it’s called!
😂. Nice👍
We have the exact same stock tank. I notice you have not painted the inside and neither have we. However, we used chlorine and the pool rusted rather quickly. Have you had any rust issues?
None whatsoever (knock on wood!) I read to not allow any chlorine to come in contact with the metal. I just use the 3" tablets in the floating dispenser. I do not shock it, and the tabs never flake or leave crumbles, they stay hard until dissolved. That stinks for you! Im so sorry!
Thank you. We also use the tabs in the floater. Not sure what happened. We are actually now being forced to paint it. I’ll show you the before and after pics. Wish us luck!
I still have not figure out how to add this, i have a Crystal clean intex pump 1 is the inlet 1 the outlet and rhen the hoses are conected to the pump, is this the outlet hose that you use for the waterfall? Thanks
I’m sorry, just make sure you follow the pump directions. The other stuff I use is just N add in. Maybe your pump is having issues, I would. All the warranty department and troubleshoot;)
@@ParagonRidgeRanch my pump works fine i am just asking you what hose is that you use for the waterfall
OMG!! I thought I was the only one that looked at pics. I hate reading instructions!
For somebody who don't like to read he caught you hick up lol. Thank you for sharing xoxo
Do you know what the name of the attachment is that you used to integrate your skimmer?
I dont! I am avidly looking for the name of it, so many have asked. I just had it in a box of old pool parts!
Have you found out what the part is please!!! Need to know so I can recreate this :)
What is the attachment thing with the threads that you needed for the skimmer called?
Did you ever find the answer?
Ooh I did years ago, it may be posted in the comments. I’m sorry this is from a long time ago
Can you put the link for the stuff you need please
It is all in the description;)
Have y’all put a heater on this pool?
We haven't, I really wanted to last year but i read so many different ways to do it. I love the idea of the tankless water heater circulating the water, They put it on a dolly and hook it up to the stock tank, I just wasn't prepared to spend $500 for it last year :) Have you?
@@ParagonRidgeRanch Just purchased a Uceder for $125 off Amazon. No holes in my stock tank. It will heat the pool to 104. Nice in winter. Just want to thank you both for all your sharing. I set my pool up exactly the same way and love the little waterfall. The remote vacuum is just awesome. Thank you for sharing your awesome setup.
Aww that’s so great to hear!! I’m so happy you didn’t drill holes!!! Thanks so much for sharing! I’m going to look that heater up now!
I'm astounded when companies are still using slot screws.
I look at the pictures as well, show me a picture and I can figure it out. Rarely do I use the instructions
You would think by now the maker would have a version with pre-drilled hole for the pump.
This is for livestock to drink out of. Why would they put holes in it?
They are used ad plunge pools. The holes are for the inlet and outlet valves to connect to the pool pump. They're used for more than livestock since covid.
Funny thing is, that that boy grabbed pliers instead of channel locks.
What is the size of the pool?
8foot round
@@ParagonRidgeRanch Oops. I was not specific as I meant to ask what is the depth|. Is it 2 or 3 feet?
I followed all your steps and my skimmer isn't sucking in
Did you prime your pump?
@@ParagonRidgeRanch by priming do you mean adding water where filter is and hoses...yes
The pump and filter may be full of water 100% including all tubes in and out, then turn it on, it will be primed and pull in water. The skimmer is just a product, the tube to your filter and pump is the same as any pool
@@ParagonRidgeRanch I will keep trying tomorrow...I gave up for today lol
It must be a man thing ? My husband has been a journeyman electrian, excellent at his profession but doesn't read directions when at home. Lol. Girl i feel u. Angie-Ohio
No pump???
The pump is already behind the pool. These items plug into the pump
No he don't want the instructions 😄😃😀
Did your husband told you to clean a filter ? I thought that we have a man at home to do a dirty job.
Lol!! I take care of the pool and stay home, he works all day;)
@@ParagonRidgeRanch You look like you take care of everything. Just because you're husband working, it is not a wife job to do everything at home. LOL
