  • Lithium battery installation. practical installation of a lithium powered electrical system on a yacht . We replace our old lead acid batteries with - Victron www.victronene... Lithium Iron Phosphate battery system. We also install Balmar alternator and controller. we show how we fitted the Victron system into the space our old lead acid batteries were fitted. Covers installation of the controls systems needed , Battery management system , Linx distribution bus bars, Quattro combi inverter charger, dc dc converters, battery protection . We chose all Victron equipment and would recommend it to anyone looking for a robust, interlinked, Bluetooth monitored system. we also installed a Bow battery system that reduced reliance on the domestic batteries and the high amperage cables running forwards

Great video. Thoroughly enjoyed watching the process. Made me realise I should have worked harder at school. 😂

Great video - thanks! Is the Victron Battery Protect needed if/since there is no external BMS that can shut down the load side if the house bank voltage is getting critically low?

      Hi EN
Battery protect is used to cut of battery bank when getting low, it is controlled by the BMS , so in effect the The external BMS senses the low battery condition and activates the Battery cut-off . Kinda like having a switch in there that the BMS can control . The BMS is just the brains in the system it’s not actually a “switch “
