    i grew up in hastings on the mornington peninsula and we often had school excursions to pt leo
    (the beach/camp site) so FYI the PT in pt leo is pronounced "point" not "pee-tee"

    I would scratch Point Leo from this list personally, the wines are overpriced for the quality - Quealy, Kerry Greens, Prancing Horse, Willow Creek and Ocean Eight are all much better choices.

    What a lame video. Probably produced by Tourism Australia. All the same old commercial wineries. There are so many good wineries in Australia beyond these companies.

      Tourist company! They will not include the somewhat better less known wine regions delivering mainly craft wines and beers as there's no money in that.

    Full of corporate wineries with zero interest in vineyards or quality. It’s all just a a big lie and marketing spin

    Best wines are in France and italy Australia doesn’t come close!

    • @icmull
      @icmull Před 3 lety +15

      Nah thats just bs. The French pretend there is something special that makes theirs the best. Its a load of crap. Grapes came from Italy in the first place to France. They imported them just like Australia. Australia has steadier temperatures, less rain fall and frosts. 90% of the wine making is done on the vine. The knowldege is well known theoughout the world. Most of the new world wines are comparable. There are plenty of bad French and Italian wines. They mass produce as well. The French just try and bullshit that they have special terroir. Not to mention what you enjoy is all that matters.

      @@icmull wells France and Italy are known for the best wines in the world not Australia you go to parts of the world Australian wines don’t even exist,I must say australia has caught up but they still don’t have that reputation like they do in France or Italy!

      We can all appreciate the merits of European wine, but this is not to say that Australia does not produce a fine drop. Let this video be an invitation to visit and try for yourself the many varieties of wine available across the globe!
