He teaches the concepts with such clarity and passion, I almost immediately could visualize the lecture almost as he sees it through his own eyes. Excellent teacher is excellent. 5 Stars
I'll be honest,
If we say like youtube or any other social media is like ocean....These type of lectures are like island on which only desired peoples come, there is no nonsense or politics or advertisement..... straight to the answers which helps to change millions of lives in real life :)
I watched his lectures (this one and the theory and discrete structures), to prepare for the qualifier. I owe this man (Shai Simonson) my PhD. I got 100 in discrete structures, I got algorithms for the first time, clearly, by watching his lectures. I send him an email to thank him for it (and replied, very kindly). I watch this videos now for further refreshment of my theoretical skills, and for sentimental value :-)
are there any assignments for this class? grats on the phd btw
Using Professor Simonson's lectures as college prep before I start burning away my GI bill at a comp sci degree. Wish me luck!
I came across these lectures searching for NP completness (lect 16..). Well, I think I'll just go from beginning till end. Great teaching - many thanks.
happened with me too, he makes it so interesting.
hey, can you give the review regarding this complete playlist? Is it worth going through complete lectures and preparing notes?
Algorithm is the explicit statement of a sequence of thought processes that produce solutions to stated problems. Ability to evolve algorithms is one property that distinguishes human intelligence from intelligence of other organisms in nature.
thanx 4 putting it more clearer !!!
One of the best lectures on Algorithms.
Yes, He is really good and interested that the students get as much as they can.
thank you for putting these on here in full rather then in parts.
FINALLY...A HUMAN
***** Funny that East made more contributions in the field of Algorithm and mathematics than West.
Really? There is a term called Goggle if you are quite lazy to jump into the history of mathematics. :D
a god actually
@@rj-nj3uk go and watch the man who knew infinity
best teacher ever seen! send my thanks if you know him.
The best teacher ever!
Very interesting, thanks for uploading the video.
Great overview!
came back to this video after 9 years
enlightening
was here 10 years ago, now back :D
Thank You sir
If all my teachers were like this I would have passed all classes with a 10
Which book should i read with his lecture

real teaching .
What are the prerequisites for this?
What is NP?
Would you recommend skiena or this guy (shai Simonson)?
Is there any prerequisite for these lectures?
8 months too late but yes. You would need some intro level cs programming courses as well as data structures and finally discrete math. This is all you would need to study algorithms.
I don't know if its because of the poor video quality but he looks like Ed Sheeran :P
in germany no one is able to explain this...:(
Exactly!! I'm a student in Germany, and currently stuck with the same problem
