Dead & Company was formed in 2015 when the Grateful Dead’s Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann and Bob Weir joined forces with artist and musician John Mayer, Allman Brothers’ bassist Oteil Burbridge, and Fare Thee Well and RatDog keyboardist Jeff Chimenti. The result was one of the most successful touring bands of the decade. The inaugural tour kicked off in the fall of 2015 with two sold-out shows at the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York City and ended with two sold-out performances at the ‘Fabulous’ Forum in Inglewood, California.
Since then, the band has completed five tours, playing to more than 1.5 million fans, and has become a record-breaking stadium act. Dead & Company has headlined iconic stadiums across the country including Folsom Field, Autzen Stadium, Citi Field, Fenway Park and Dodger Stadium. Additionally, the band broke Wrigley Field’s all-time concert attendance record in 2017. Dead & Company’s 2018 Summer Tour ranked in the top 25 of the Top 100 Worldwide Tours and for the past two years, their Summer Tours ranked in the top 15 of the Top Global Concert Tours.

Best Two sets I have ever experienced live from the DEAD. They really played their hearts out on this one. It was in the air that night. Straight jamming, damn wat a strange trip its been, I love this band through and through.

Mayer rien à dire
Great first set and pre-drums. Bit of a slog post-drums. Beautiful Ripple encore. If Bob paid as much attention to his playing as he does providing semaphoric hand signals to the sound guys we would all be happier....his tone is rough. I hated that ice pick to the brain sound he developed back in the early nineties and I hate it still. Basically, this is Mayer and Chimenti's band now. I'm okay with that, those guys can really play. Bob's voice was really strong tonight, the spacing of the shows helps....
i’m kind of into the ice pick tone that’s a good way to describe it. extremely distinctive and works for his playing style

Jeff’s keys (organ) too low in the mix on that first solo.
If youtube had a 1.13 playback speed, dead and co would be awesome. Put it on 1.25 playback speed and get a feel for what it should sound like,. It's just a tad too fast.
They have custom settings that allow to set it to 1.10 or 1.15 speed. To each their own, the slower pace has actually grown on me quite a bit, albeit it did take some time.

Poor guys ears hurt.
He had ringing in his ears. Also has mic’d up monitors to the headphones so he can hear the audience better than he could before along with the on stage interactions
John wears the headphones instead of in ear monitors. They are so he can hear his guitar through the black
monitor in front of his microphone stand. It is so loud on stage, with two drummers behind him and a piano/
organ beside him, he could never hear his own guitar through all the noise. In his solo work he wears in ear monitors.
My son is a musician so I know how this goes. As lead guitar, he need to be able to hear his instrument while performing or else you could easily play out of tune.
Because he’s a freaking clown.

Exactly… You can hate dead and co but it’s hard to argue with the thousands of people who show up to see them each night. This is true musicianship and it’s hard to dispute that.
