I always report abusive or graphic hate comments if I see them on any channel, and always have. It baffles me that people would ever just skip over them. We can all share our opinions in a respectful manner.

I would definitely recommend getting a comment moderator that filters those abusive comments and sends you the ones that need an answer. Many gurus do that and it really helps.

Wayne, I’m a 9-1-1 emergency dispatcher in the US and I can totally relate to the feeling of letting the bad feedback get you down even when there is so much more good feedback coming your way. We’re only human, we tend to feel the negative criticism much more intensely. Just know that when I’ve had a really bad day at work, your videos are my happy place! You help me stay motivated to take care of myself and you encourage me to have fun *decorating* my face with makeup (rather than simply using makeup to *hide it away* or even neglecting it entirely).

Dearheart, not all comments have anything to do with reality, or you. 💜Much of the time the demanding/mean/negative comments are more a reflection of the person commenting, and much less about anything you have or haven’t done wrong. You don’t have to “try harder”. You may set your own comments-reading/replying policy, and if the process of reading personally-related material is difficult or takes a toll, you are totally within rights to give the job over to someone else to curate comments that are mean, unnecessary or otherwise not pertaining to the culture you are creating/maintaining in your community. I know several content creators that use this tactic, and I would agree that it is a smart move. It might work for you. Remember, you often also address comments within your videos, so there is no need to feel pressured to answer comments individually. Your webfam know you’re invested in them. you don’t have to prove anything, your character shines through everything you do. I feel the recent conflation of the “beauty” & drama communities has spawned an unrealistic expectation of our content creators’ obligations to their audience, and I would counsel you to not stress yourself going down that badly-lit lane. I’m not being succinct, but I just wanted to reassure you that you’re not at our beck and call. Do it your way, the way that works for you.. thanks for everything 💜💜💜 sorry so lengthy..

Yeah, I seriously almost started full-on crying when he was saying that. I'm so very sorry that he has to deal with that, and it absolutely shouldn't just be accepted as "part of the job." My sentiments exactly - Wayne has always shared his vast knowledge freely and in such a positive and uplifting way. The fact that he receives threatening or bulling messages is just appalling - why would anyone do something like this, especially when we as a society are supposedly becoming more concerned by and aware of bullying. I know the answer is "they do it because they can hide behind an anonymous online persona" but I feel so bad that such a lovely, intelligent and generous man is on the receiving end of some nasty comments.
Exactly. People tend to push and deposit their problems in another and this is the great disease for the 21st century. Also, if they're genuinely interested, they could review Wayne's entire channel and understand the information without trying to transform this into "private practice." Personally, I appreciate all the knowledge and techniques that are generously and politely shared on this channel. I find it extremely nice to see and hear Wayne. Best regards.

Yes, and some CZcamsrs have a friend or an assistant go through new comments (or just the filtered ones) and delete the nasty ones. Because it's less personally painful for them. 👍🏽
I’d love to use correctors/primers/baking Etc. I love makeup so much and have been following Wayne for years! But now at 35, my newly ageing skin (and more sensitive to eyeshadows etc then ever before), I find less is definitely more now. I have such crepey skin around my eyes EVERY wrinkle shows. Watching your vids over the years has helped my adjust my makeup routine and look the best I can. You have replied and recommend some brilliant products to me over that time. I’m not sure how people can expect you to reply on every single comment made. I think your informative videos give enough to followers . People expect way too much online these days . Make sure you look after you Wayne!

The price made me reconsider, and I thought I'd try The Ordinary hemi squalene, absolutely no fragrance and my skin loves it! And only £2.79! I will try the squalene for winter, seems a bit richer. Wayne does rate The Ordinary's products. I can't use anything with alcohol on my skin, no perfume, fragrance, nothing 😪 There was something else I asked him about, but I can't remember what it was 🤔 Warm wishes to you!

@@aftereffects640 He never said it isn't. In his videos, he specifically talks about the "excessive" use of makeup. How to "correctly" apply makeup. Give makeup tips. Never bashes anyone. Never forces anyone to follow him. His videos are beginner friendly and easy to do. Even in this videos he says that the youtubers don't need colour correcting, yet still do it. Which brings me back to my original point: doing something that is not required, yet still doing it.

Some people ask questions that can easily be answered if they do some googling themselves.
Do they really expect you to answer up to 6000 questions per video? Crazy expectations. Ignore the hate and move on.

Ive seen a few more negative comments when there’s a controversial video. And even one vile and disgusting comment can be hard to take. But Wayne makes it sound like he gets a lot of hate.

I’ve just started watching Wayne Goss videos and I must say how wonderful he comes across. Knowledgeable, sincere, realistic and very talented. It makes me sad that you are getting comments like that because you really helped me accept my natural features. I don't feel beautiful when I try to change my face shape drastically. Whenever I apply foundation and concealer, I always think about your videos. Thank you for actually offering techniques for the everyday makeup look. I love how instagram makeup looks too but sometimes it does not fit the occasion or even a certain face. You actually teach makeup instead of trying to sell me makeup. So thank you for that.

Wayne u have made makeup and more, self care fun for my daughter and I again. We r enjoying time together in a shared passion. Your integrity allows us not to constantly worried we are being duped or sold to so we can just enjoy ourselves. Fear always shows itself in ugly ways. People who live their life in fear and can’t face it in its true home within themselves try to attack it in the world around them. It give them a false respite from what they see a an uncontrollable frightening world. I know it’s hard but try to have some compassion for them. Their true hell is waking every day and having to face their own hate in the mirror. They condemn themselves to a pitiful existence. I just wanted to thank u. For the love u have shared with us💋

Hey I love your videos! I haven’t watched all of them but I love that when I have an issue or need to learn techniques I can turn to you. I have a lot of red on my cheeks on either side of my nose and a lot of the youtube videos just pack on the green and I hate wearing a really full coverage foundation so that just wasn’t going to work for me. I am really gratefull for this video because knowing how much to really apply helps so much! I used just enough to start seeing the palest bit of green and then put my makeup on normally and while the red wasn’t ALL gone it was mostly gone! It looks natural and I dont have to worry about going witchy later in the day! I love seeing you apply makeup on faces that aren’t ‘perfect’. I learn so much when I see a really awesome end result that shows how to correct issues. I get compliments on how my makeup looks sometimes and I know that most of that praise comes down to what I have learned from you and the pixiwoo sisters. Thank you for all the videos you make. Especially the what not to do videos as well as the ones that teach you how to do things because they are really, really helpfull. My mother never wore makeup beyond a bit of powder, eyeliner and lipstick so I have had to learn to do my makeup myself and having such wonderful teachers has really made such a huge difference. I feel so much more confident when my makeup is looking great and it has been you who has gotten me to the point where I can apply my makup and be confident that it will look good. Thank you! Thank you for the videos and Thank you for all the time you spend teaching so many people how to help themselves feel confident in themselves. You make a difference you know. Most all women wear makeup and when you don’t know how to put it on correctly you can end up feeling a bit like an outsider and when you don’t have family or girlfriends to help figure things out it can be difficult to learn what suits you. You really have made a difference. Thank you.
