  • After Depleting a myriad of Earth's Mana in a desperate battle, Gamera returns to the ocean to heal, but the low Mana Levels awaken a lone egg giving birth to the Predator known as "Gyaos". Immediately The Global Defense Force deploy troops to counter the winged beast, but are caught off guard by its swiftness and cunningness.

  • @TOHOREMIX
    @TOHOREMIX Před 4 lety +9

    This is without a doubt not only one of the best fan made stop motions in the giant monster circle, but also the best Gamera centric stop motion ever done. Everything down to set design to flow of animation defiantly had alot of work put in and it shows.
    The rate of animation never slows down or speeds up, the consistency is spot on which is never easy and I commend you for getting it nailed. The military and monster choreography is by far the strongest aspect of this stop motion, for any moment with Gyaos or Gamera in flight alone is incredibly well executed. It's never been done this well on a fan made level, for outside of one instance, it all looks natural.
    The attention to detail, like actually putting the work into buildings coming down, the jelly bean eggs and even some violence you never see depicted in fan films is nuts. You know your stuff.
    My only gripes come down to voice acting and story. The former, while by no means terrible (props to you and the other voice actors for doing your best), could use some work. Think the script and dialogue doesnt aid to this much either, as it's mostly familiar territory. Let's face it, in this day and age some cliches in this area are unavoidable, so maybe try and juggle around with said dialouge tropes to see how creative you can get with them going forward. This also applies to the story, as even if it's only a little bit, some of these characters could do with some fleshing out because the potential is there.
    I always try to encourage improvement and point out this stuff because we need more quailty content like this in the Kaiju fandom. You clearly put alot of time and effort into this and a good percentage of it paid off. You should be proud.
    Just keep ironing out the kinks over time and keep up the good work, cos count me in for what comes next.
    Excellent stuff!

    • @AlexisGutierrezProductions
      @AlexisGutierrezProductions  Před 4 lety +1

      The characters don't get much fleshing out because this is actually the middle of the series and not the beginning. The Prequel is supposed to establish the characters and explain that this is not the same Gamera from the 90's Trilogy, I didn't have the resources at the moment to make it as the first seen alone would need a lot of cgi.

    • @TOHOREMIX
      @TOHOREMIX Před 4 lety

      I figured this might of been the case considering this is a series.
      Well I hope whatever you got planned can be executed without too much issue.

      By the way, I'm a Marine and this was made in the barracks in Iwakuni Japan. There was a lot of issues, I'm almost EASing so when I go back home there will be better sets.

    • @AlexisGutierrezProductions
      @AlexisGutierrezProductions  Před 4 lety +2

      There was only one more voice actor, the rest are video game voice files. I wouldn't say this was cliché as much. This Gamera was raised by the military, the gyaos lost its composure after the eggs were destroyed and did a charging blast and gamera only did a basic fire blast. This Gamera does not drag on the fighting more than it needs to due to. The military actually had a plan to to explode the eggs while gyaos was nice and comfortable with them to damage the wings so they can follow up with a naval bombardment, ambush. Plans were interupted because the gyaos are known to be cleaver and a powerful beam.

    • @TOHOREMIX
      @TOHOREMIX Před 4 lety

      And that makes this even more impressive, and that it only took 3 months. I'd kill to be able to get stuff done in that time.
      In regards to the plot from a tactical stand point you absolute nailed it for sure. Guess what I was trying to get at was seeing some Sci-Fi beats elsewhere, but again that's just me. From your field it makes sense to be well versed with these scenarios and dialogue. And I am aware you used Game sound files (not a bad thing mind you, and understandable considering your circumstances.)
      It's all good, and I'm even more curious as to what you have in mind for the future.

    Comment Film Review:
    The synopsis of this film is very similar to the first Heisei Gamera film. Although it shares similarities in setting with Moorezilla Production's Godzilla 2185 (btw have you watched that). I find this and 2185 to be very unique mediums for the typical Kaiju Fan Film, exploring a more future focused storyline, which I can really assume that these plot choices are due to the immediate box office failure of the Anime Trilogy of Godzilla films, only several things I can really say for these films, they're good and expect many Copycats.
    4/6 bags of Popcorn, absolutely stunning in animation and the storyline. However like the 2014 Godzilla film, the namesake monster shows up in the second half to kick tail and smash buildings with the opposite Kaiju. Really the only improvements for this Film is to introduce Gamera early on and to lessen the reveal of a Kaijuniverse to the final credits.

      This was the middle of the series. The original Hei Sei Gamera died in 1999 destroying the army of Gyaos. When the Mana levels return back to normal he was reborn as an Egg. The military found the baby and raised it by orders of the General, he still remembered it from 1999. Gamera was mostly in the ocean because he was still healing after fighting one of the Godzillas(there are multiple), the corpse was used to make Kiryu. Sorry that I didn't show Gamera until the end, the video would have lasted 1 minute.

      @@AlexisGutierrezProductions It was for both, because first of all, for what i wanted, i like seeing more charactes as miniatures figures instead been scaled dolls. I'm not saying that Stop motion with scaled figures are bad, i just like the feeling that humans characters are smaller than a giant revoltech/S.H. monstersarts and i think Cod, Halo, and other MC mini-figure are the best way to represent a tiny being struggling agaisnt giant monster threat. Secondly, for the missing part, i think there's not enough stop motion about mega construx mini figure against giants monsters/dinosaurs/robots (except lego's mini-figures) fighting in a N'scale city. So it's what i'm looking for when i want to see a new stop motion about kaiju om youtube.

      @@AlexisGutierrezProductions i rather also use mega construx mini-figure for action scene, but if a lego mini-figure play the role as a citizien, because it's easier to make it doing passif action, i'm ok with that. For action scenes, always the mega construx Cod/Halo soldiers

    1st off love the vids they are very fun and entertaining. Quick "lose rule" of thumb when going to or traveling somewhere go from left to right when retreating or coming home or leaving a destination movement is from right to left. also sloping angles left to right is positive mood and good things and right to left downward angle is negative mood bad things happen.

    • @AlexisGutierrezProductions
      @AlexisGutierrezProductions  Před 3 lety

      Left or right things differ depending on the user, different cultures read from right to left or left to right, it doesn't really matter.

      Gamera at this point in time is too powerful for the super gyaos. The battle would have lasted only minute tops. Gamera was resting after a battle in the ocean, the gyaos when she started absorbing Mana and getting bigger is what woke up Gamera.
