- More Than A Feeling
BOSTON
I looked out this morning and the sun was gone
Turned on some music to start my day
I lost myself in a familiar song
I closed my eyes and I slipped away
It's more than a feeling
(more than a feeling)
When I hear that old song they used to play
(more than a feeling)
And I begin dreaming
(more than a feeling)
'Til I see Marianne walk away
I see my Marianne walkin' away
So many people have come and gone
Their faces fade as the years go by
Yet I still recall as I wander on
As clear as the sun in the summer sky
It's more than a feeling
(more than a feeling)
When I hear that old song they used to play
(more than a feeling)
And I begin dreaming
(more than a feeling)
'Til I see Marianne walk away
I see my Marianne walkin' away
When I'm tired and thinking cold
I hide in my music, forget the day
And dream of a girl I used to know
I closed my eyes and she slipped away
She slipped away
It's more than a feeling
(more than a feeling)
When I hear that old song they used to play
(more than a feeling)
And I begin dreaming
(more than a feeling)
'Til I see Marianne walk away

Since my name is Mary Ann this song has been a favorite. Can't believe im 67 now. I was 20 when it came out. Time just disappeared on me but this song is timeless!
Happy Day 🌿🌹🌿 Mary Ann... This is Definitely a Awesome Song !!! I think I've always Loved it 😍.. I am 55 Years Young Myself !!! Boston is a Great Band!!
😊🎉❤😊🎉😂❤😊🎉😂❤
Yep, happy day to you Mary Ann…love it, “…time just disappeared from me…” Ain’t it the truth?
Hi Mary Ann I am also one of the few Marianne’s around. Well I was all the way through elementary and Jr High School. Met my husband who had a mother named Mary Ann who was called Mary and his sister Mary Ann who was called Mary Ann so not as to confuse things. Then I came along. My husband would refer to his sister as our Mary Ann and to me as my Marianne. It’s a beautiful name chosen by my father and I have always cherished it as he chose it for me.
It’s gotta feel amazing to have inspired one of the greatest pieces of art the Western world has ever produced.
Thank you Mary Anne🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️
Happy birthday 🎈
After listening to the song for 40 years, I'm just now learning the lyrics. Who's with me?
Yep! 😂
True fucking story me too
Me too at the age of 40
No. The lyrics were a big part of my attraction to this as a kid.
yup
One of the most under-rated songs in the history of rock music.
I don’t always listen to Boston, but when I do, the entire neighborhood does as well. 🎶 🎸
It's good to share, dude 😊
You know that!
HELL F'N YEAH, BABY
Only confirmation we are neighbors. Thanks John
Keep it going my friend.
On the release of this song in August of 1976, I had just finished high school final exams and waited for university admission. In suspense, I got my feelings soaked in this evergreen song. Through university were Boston, Kansas, Jimi Hendrix, Jethro Tull, Iron Maiden, Rush, Peter Frampton, Black Sabbath, Queen and all the like.
Long live R n R.
Cool story.
Sweet memory
Amen, he'll yes. LONG LIVE ROCK AND ROLL!!!
One of those songs that you can listen to over and over again and not get tired of it.
It never gets old! 🤟
@@danteibert3505 Yeah it never gets old forever this song is the best Also Listen to the Song Renegade Fighter And losing my religion
I’m doing that right now 🎶🎶🎶
The only thing that brought me here was Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa.
There is nothing righter than this. Its perfect!
The first time I heard this song was in 1986, yeh I know, I'd been living in a dark hole before that; I was smitten, blasted, smashed to the floor in utter amazement. WOW! You know what? I still feel the same today whenever I hear it. Guitar, Vocals ... everything about this song is totally unbelievable.
The harmonies, both vocal and guitar, are superb.
Truly one of the five best rock songs ever written and composed, a song that came out near the day i was born, and i'll never get tired of hearing/listening/jamming out to :)
👍 The entire album is a masterpiece.
Reminds me of my late brother in law!😢 Eloy Mclaughlin. Miss you brother!! Gone tooooo soon!!! He loved this band!!
Me and Becca ALWAYS THINKING OF YOU!!
Please give the names of the other 4
Schulz and Delp 😢
An absolutely beautiful song!
Perfectly crafted, in every way.
Glad to have heard it!
A Gift, to Humanity!
I'm only in high school now and I'm almost crying to this. Who knows how bittersweet this will be in 30, 40, 50 years, or maybe even longer from now...
I got this album when it came out. Now I'm 65 and don't know how I got here. It goes so fast. But I can go back in time when I listen to the old songs they used to play. Stay true to yourself. It'll be over before you know it. Peace
Saw them in concert in 1986 in 52.
I'm 62 y.o and this song hurts my heart since i was young!!!
@@Metalpriest62 I’m 55 and it hurts mlne too. Not sure WHY qIt always has and still does how aurt. Hell I was only 9 or 10 when it came out. What kind of love affair had ever taught me a lesson by that agent back in the 70’s? I believe whatever it was was within the actual “music” itself if that even makes any sense. 👀
R. I. P. Bradley Edward Delp. In my opinion Brad was one of the absolute BEST MALE VOCALISTS in the History of Rock ‘n Roll. In no particular order here are a few more on my list:
Brad is a given - Steve Perry - Freddie Mercury - Chris
Cornell … Thinking ….:
62 years old -- ditto
青春時代からずっと好きな曲です。私の英語力では完全に歌詞を聞き取れなかったので、この動画で歌詞がわかって嬉しいです。どうもありがとうございます。

Wonderful feelings and memories from my younger days in the 1970's. I am stuck in the 1970s. Who's with me? Have fun? 🎸
Such powerful emotion in this, nothing can match it!
I was thinking the same awesome tune.
A classic that never gets old hearing
There are moments in your life when the past comes to you so real that you actually feel like you are there again. I was in Boston Bay when I heard Brad Delp voice singing this song! I lost myself in that song....one of the best songs ever!
For sure! With you there.
@@cameroon5404 Best Rock Song Ever.
Your comment says it all!
So you heard Boston in Boston?
The crazy thing is even though I was born in 1992 songs like this bring me back to that era as if I was there. Like it awakens a long forgotten memory.
Back in 1987 I was working at a small factory. Somebody scored an 8 track player at a yard sale, and this was on the only 8 track anyone head. From my machine I could only half hear it, but every hour or so this song would play. Takes me back every time. Crap job, but to be that young again...
'87 or '78? 🙂
1987.

The lead singer's voice is amazing
Brad Delp was one of the best vocalist ever to sing into a microphone. And from everything I heard and seen, a super nice guy.
He is all the voices in this song. Yes, his is the only voice!
When he passed I really understood "when the day, the music..... Died" and I was singin "bye bye miss American pie" 😢

so many people have come and gone - but Boston, like the game, remains!
Great song bro, I grew up in NY, originally from the Caribbean, my mother would turn our radio to WABC for the weather updates, so I heard this alot but never knew the lyrics until now, it's over 40 years for me.
The GREATEST debut album ever
I have always adored this song! When I hear it I go back in time! Such happy memories!
This was a special song between my little brother Mike and me. It's how he helped me through a very rough spot as a teenager. Mike passed away 3 days ago and it's taken on an even more special meaning for me. Rest in peace little brother.
Sorry for your loss. 😢 may he rest in peace. Watch over you. ❤
How sad... how it will feel to listen to this song in his absence... it must be very hard and nostalgic for you.
I'm so sorry.❤

That this legendary classic only went to #5, shows you how great music was back then.
@@mmp6042 or how stupid people are! This should be #1.
I have been listening to this song since 1976 and can't get enough of Brad's voice and the electric guitars. Why did Brad commit suicide😢
Carl was right, this really is the Ultimate Song.
The song that says "when I hear that old song, they used to play, I begin dreaming" becomes that song lol
Till l see Marianne walk away....
I never play music loud but this song sounds better the louder it’s played.
Another song that reminds be of my first love….summer of ‘88. Makes me feel so melancholy.

Great music!!!!!
Most of you who've sang this don't know the chorus after "More than a feeling" it's 1 of those songs, for decades if mumbled something else to the chorus,, probably heard it first in the 80s as a small child, loved it since, it's timeless, the lyrics "so Many people have come & gone, their faces fade as the year's go by" fabulous line.
Do you know, I've done exactly that for years, and I just decided today to check out the actual lyrics 😁 I wasn't even close 🤣
