- The Florida State university student accused of killing a couple and then chewing on one of the victims' faces is conscious a week after the attack took place. Police say they found 19 year-old Austin Harrouff chewing on the face of John Stevens, who was beaten and stabbed to death along with his wife Michelle at their home. Harrouff reportedly told police he wasn't on any drugs, but cops are awaiting test results from the FBI to confirm that. #InsideEdition
calling it an “incident” is such an insult to the victims and their families.

They're doing tests to prove if he was or was not on drugs when the crime was committed. He made a statement to police saying he wasn't on drugs but if anything is in his system they will find it and depending on the concentration can determine when it was taken and when he would have been intoxicated. He may have claimed he was not on drugs in an attempt to avoid more charges. This type of psychosis is caused by a few drugs, like flakka or bath salts. This guy if he was on drugs, likely took bathsalts for some reason bath salts cause some people to partake in violent outbursts and cannibalism. However bath salts make anyone temporarily crazy and out of touch with reality, and in some cases permanently changes the brain. Its a scary drug, but it's a scarier thought someone sober would do something like this out of the blue.

I think it’s to show that he looks like a typical college boy and generally had a normal life. There wasn’t some big moment that lead up to this attack and it most likely, he didn’t plan to murder anyone. The point of that is to remind people that someone who comes off as harmless can be wildly dangerous at any given moment. That’s probably also the only footage they could get ahold of. That showed more than just his face.

The night of the murders he had went on a run with his dad that morning and then later to lunch with him. He left before the food arrived and walked to his moms house where he paced the neighborhood before seeing the couples garage open with the husband inside. He stabbed John then Michelle with a pocket knife then with other objects around the garage. When Jeff (the neighbor) went to stop the attack Austin said “You don’t want any of this” then stabbed Jeff in his back, neck, as well as his head.
Once the officers arrived (took four of them to get Austin off of John so he would quit eating his face) he continued to say “kill me” Later with a detective he said “I ate something bad” they asked what and he responded “Humans”.

Edit: I just got notifications about all the comments. So I did a little research and found this statement:
"Now, while in jail Austin has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and began treatment. And just this March it was declared he was legally insane at the time of the murders. He has still not yet had his trial due to numerous psychiatric tests. It is unknown he will ever be served justice for his crimes."
