thanks Neil at Italia Autos.
Nice to see the little venturi piece is still in the airbox. A lot of GTAs have lost them over the years of servicing due to lazy mechanics not putting them back in when changing the air filter. It actually makes a real difference in the cars performance, Alfa wouldn't have put it there for no reason.
That engine bay is looking good Neil. The engine sounds great too! 👍
Cheers. It's only the start. Bodywork and suspension still to be done.
Ah the good old 156 airbox.
So many people came up with different ways to repair them.
Some drilled out and epoxyed nutserts some used self tappers.
I was tempted to buy a CDA but saw the price.
Thanks for this lovely video..good job..have a nice day mate..👍🇲🇰
Thanks you to.
Super cool car. Please keep the content coming on this one
We views are done on gta videos 😪
Good job Neil. Everything goes nice. Happy to see that the GTA goes forward.
Morning Neil. Looks like this one is going to be a good un.
Nice one Neil. This is all making me look at my GTA more closely. It's time.
Well worth doing as prices are on the rise.
Engine bay looks amazing. Nice job Neil. I'd be tempted to have that one of a kind pearl white... 😁
I still am. ❤👍
Thanks Neil, have a good day.
Nice Job , and very clean engine now. Busso is magic to admire the sound and esthetic looking.
Couldn't agree more!
Stunning, it looks and sounds absolutely pin. Looking forward to seeing more on the Punto too!
Thanks Neil.
good job :)
Thanks
My absolut favourite Alfa of all time with the 105's. Love this engine work what you did on it.
Thanks.
Looking good mate! 👍🏻
Thanks 👍
Tidy work..👍👍
Engine bay looks spot on, this will look superb when done👌
I think so too!
I enjoyed watching that, thank you! Those Dremels are handy!
One of the most handy tools in my workshop
Hi there, fantastic as always! I went through the massive hassle of repairing the airbox lid. The epoxies were marginal for a while, engine movement broke out the studs I glued in after a month or two. tried combinations of silicone, super glue, bumper repair filler(best bonding but not strong enough. Eventually I heated up bolts and melted them in with
some extra filler rod with a soldering iron. Then I rough sanded the plastic with 40 grit flooring sandpaper until 'hairs' of plastic were appearing, wiped down with IPA religiously every step and finally fibreglassed two thin layers of polystyrene resin and matt over for some strength. worked a charm.
Good job Dieter. A lot of people put solid carbon pipes from their TB to the airbox in pictures I see and it always makes me wonder how long their airbox lasted before engine movement ripped the lid off :)
@@ArmySigs removing the Helmholtz resonators hurts midrange and throttle response a little as well
Lovely job Neil, and I always loved the car, it's a classic!
Thanks for watching
Forget blasting and painting those brackets, get the whole lot in stainless steel from Gary at TotallyAlfa
Same for all the nuts and bolts removed.
Got a complete pack of bolts off ebay for £55. Bargain.
Bravo!
Guys. Just soak the bolts in White vinegar overnight. Easy work .
much better with shiny new ones.
How much torque can the epoxy and putty take, very useful tip if it can stand being tightened. The white paint would be lush
As you can see in the video I all went together nicely. But to be honest I wouldn't over tighten the bolts.
You are just an Arese guy, whether you like it or not ;-)
Looks awesome, is the fuel rail the same on both 2.5 and 3.2?
similar.
@@ItaliaAutos is there any possible way to find stroker kit for 2.5l v6?
Anyone else here wondering where this Sunday's episdode is😆?
Not had any time to edit this week.
and now lets see the punto neil lol
It's coming.
Is it true that you can transplant the airbox pipe from the GTA into a bog standard 156 Twin Spark?
Don't think so it's to large.
@@ItaliaAutos thanks, I had heard it suggested as an air intake upgrade, but it seemed unlikely to work, which is why I asked. Also, I suspect the extra air coming in wouldn't play well with the stock ECU settings.
Where did you get your screws for the air box from please? Loving the bodging btw!
B&Q
@@ItaliaAutos 😂😂 OK!
Is it only me having this video available only in 480p?
It's 4k.
@@ItaliaAutos can't see it in the settings. Maybe yt hasn't processed it yet
It's saying the same for me too. Is the quality 480 too. Might be a CZcams glitch. I'll reupload if needed. I'll check on my pc later.
Looks like 4k on my phone.
I got 1440p60 just now, but when I checked there is also 2160p60 available! Great job Neil!👍
