Yes remember he was (and it could be argued that he still is p because as late as season 3 you have the owl taunting Magnus with Alec always choosing Jace over him but he was his chief competition that was for his words.) in love with Jace so he was thinking about it really really hard can't say that they want to kissing thoughts or sexy thoughts. But who could blame him he is very pretty lips. Then again so does Matt dammit..

In the show they didn't because it was already established that Jace was Alec first love and in many ways but he always loved him even up until the end of the show and never really showed him getting over him. In the books Alec was just 17 he mistook the crush thing for love. Or lust for Love.. Jace was fairly sure in the books that Alec wasn't in love with him that he was just mistaking their closeness and his lost for him for love. In the show Matt sold it so well that Alec was actually in love with him it just felt wrong to do that to Alec to lead him on to have him kiss Jace's and because his character the way it was it would not have resolved anything because he wouldn't just move on he couldn't. Because they were writing show Alec and an entire different way he wasn't just Alex first crush he was the first person that he ever really loved. And still does I'm not saying that he doesn't love Magnus too but I'm saying that Jace owns a part of heart and soul that no one else ever will because of their bond because of being the first one that Alec ever loved. and it could be argued that he will always love him because I don't think Magnus ever stopped loving Camille you know heart is not pie you can love more than one person and more than one person completely. I also think that Jace loves (not sure it was romantic or not it may be because I always thought the character was bi)Alec but you know that Bond thing the nature of the bond they wouldn't have been able to even if he could return all of Alec feelings. We don't know a lot about Jace's feelings or thoughts on the matter we only know that Jace tried to say something when they were fighting that one time when Jace said this thing about you hating Clary and you getting married it's all about your feelings for me or at least you tried to get the last part out but Alec didn't want to hear it. It was still very raw for him he didn't want to face this feelings but Jace won't thought at that point that they need to talk them out so I have no idea what he was going to say but probably it's okay everything's going to be okay that kind of a thing. He was trying to accept that Alec loved him. And tell him that the feelings or just feelings they're not right they're not wrong and he needed to hear that but Alec wasn't listening. Because he wasn't ready I'm not even sure if he would be ready now for that conversation. Because I don't think he deals with his feelings for Jace not really. Because a few times that he and Magnus have talked about Jace he just didn't want to talk about it he would buy it out things like if Jace died he died that Jace was so much a part of him that he couldn't live without him. And much like Jace Magnus gives him a look but doesn't say anything he lets him say his peace and keeps his perspective on it silent because he knows that Alec doesn't want to hear it.. to this day Matt who plays him would like to set him down and talk to him because he feels that Alec is still in denial about a lot of things.
I agree with you Christy, I really believe that Alec never stop loving jace more, even when he was with magnus, he always put jace before anything else, the fact that they are parabatai doesn't explain why he get upset when maryss talk badly with jace, because I am pretty sure, maryss was even mean to izzy, and when the jace demon told magnus, that Alec would always chose jace, Alec didn't deny that, so I guess Alec has always an insolvent feeling for jace, hided in the name of the parabatai
