    After watching you build those houses, seeing how beautifully they turned out, and then seeing all the tornado damage is enough to make a person cry. 😢
    I sure hope the right insurance person comes out to check it so they understand all of the damage so it gets the attention it needs to look like new again.

    This may be the soonest after posting a video that I've managed to get on here and see it. To be the 33rd comment is unheard of, haha!
    I sure hope Macy sees this video, because I just want to say that she looks FANTASTIC. I'm not even going to add "for a woman who just had a baby" because she just looks lovely. I need you to put a bug in Andrew and Macy's ear though, Brad. Other than knowing the baby was born the night of the tornado, we haven't learned anything else. Name, weight, how she and momma are doing, does Brooklyn love being a big sister, see a picture (or better yet part of a video)... you know - things that nosey ladies like to know. Ask Mary if you need to know what things are important. I'm just so thrilled for them. Andrew works really hard (and has fun doing it) and they've made a lovely home inside the house you built them. I just couldn't be more happy for them.
    This video was really interesting, unfortunately. It was a great show of just what a tornado can do. We all think of he exterior damage and maybe some water or debris inside where windows have been blown out, but all that minute damage like the pock marks on the drywall, etc. It really goes to show you how powerful and scary those things are! I'm so glad that no people or animals were hurt at their house or yours.
    Oh... one last question. Andrew and Heavy D managed to get Nate's girlfriend's car out of the fallen shop. Is she able to get it repaired and keep on with it? It seemed to be ok other than some cosmetic things, but that's thru a video.
    Take care,
    Heather

    Amazing the amount of damage done. Have you considered that the entire structure might have been twisted or shifted on the foundation? Watching the damage you have shown looks like it might have been. I've done training on 3D modeling and precise surveying of structures. It would have been interesting to compare a 3D model of the entire house (interior & exterior) to a before and after the tornado to really visualize the effects of the storm digitally.

      Not necessarily. I’ve had claims and friends who unfortunately have had a very similar situation as Flair, and they had no trouble. Insurance adjusters are never friendly with home builders. One party is writing the check and the other party is cashing it. As crazy as it sounds, Brad is going to make a lot of money when it comes to the repairs and rebuild. He isn’t going to leave anything out and will be very detailed. Hopefully Flair doesn’t get any grief. Every industry has their bad apples and good ones too.

    • @MrNiccholas
      @MrNiccholas Před 10 dny

      Believe it or not, most Adjusters aren't worried about the money. I worked as a Catastrophe Response Team adjuster for one of the larger companies and my goal was to get as much as I could for the homeowner. That is what we were taught and that's what the supervisors drill into us. It's underwritings job to make the company money not adjusters. A big reason we don't tend to like builders is because they tend to be the most condescending, arrogant, and downright rude people we have to deal with. Plus there are a lot of contractors who lie and try to cheat the insurance company as much as they can. They try to slow us down as much as they can and they insult us or curse us out every chance they get.
      The initial adjuster's job is to get in, get photos, put together a basic estimate with as much as we can see, and get that first payment into the homeowner's hand ASAP. Then we move to the next property.
      We know full well there will be things we miss on the first look. That's why there are supplements, to add things that were missed on the first estimate. The big reason we don't get everything is we just don't have time to track down every little detail. A normal deployment to an area after a storm is 21-28 days straight, 10-14 hours each day. I've seen guys go as long as 42 days with 2-3 days off over that whole time.
      So yeah, if the builder is helpful and he's honest, great! The inside adjusters love to have good builders to help find anything we missed or anything that wasn't even visible during the initial inspection.

    As an insurance adjuster on the Catastrophe Response Team, we know we will miss things. That's what supplements are for. We only have so much time at each property and we do our best to get as much as we can. If you think you are busy, my deployments were a minimum of 21 days straight 12-14 hours each day. So I know everyone likes to hate on insurance companies, but please be understanding with your adjuster. Get lots of pictures, get bids, and send them in to the insurance company.
