    I want to graft pecans onto my young Hicorys and oaks

    I tried 3 and they all dried up. I think that type of crafting is no good, because you cut the sapwood of the trunk...and from where the scion gets the sap?

    Can you graft a pecan Scion onto any type of tree or does it have to be another nut tree? Thank you.

    Nice video. I want to know about the nails you use for grafting. Are they rust proof? Does rust affect the graft?

      +Nazar H. Nasir It's probably not best to use a rusty knife or file to graft plants. Since this video is dates and this host is no longer part of our show we can't say for sure what the brand of tools he's using. Thank you for watching!

    Our church has a wonderful pecan tree but it is now hollowed out and have to cut down it is end of July can we take scions from it and store till April of next year to graph?

    • @maozedung7270
      @maozedung7270 Před 2 lety

      You can take scions , but they won t work after such a long time.Better to do that job in Jan/Feb. and store the scions humid in the fridge.

      * Can you get a scion piece of wood, and make that Root? its own individual tree without a host ?
      *Also can you use any type of tree family, to graft a pecan to ? will it produce pecans?
      I will look for your reply thanks;
