True! I feel this. I've had Pikmin 2 for only about three years now, but I have mastered this game (maybe). I even lost count of how many complete playthroughs of this game I went through, too.

New viewer from the pikmin influx but man the inkling model is fantastic, I'm gathering you made it yourself; I used to work with modelings and rigs and I'm blown away by the amount of work you must have put into this. Seriously phenomenal work, hopefully you get the appreciation with it you deserve (also great video, can't wait to see you tackle the later dungeons)

In a way it shows that despite the time gap between playthroughs, and the difference in content, at the end of the day we're still playing video games lmao
It's both the worst and best cave
The worst for all the Bullsh**t it throws at you
And the best because it's the only cave that does something different
so in pikmin 3 when you select a pikmin type they will snap to your hand to throw them no matter where they are in your party. in this game you throw whatever's closest to your character. so what you would need to do is wait until the pikmin type you want to throw has physically moved to the front of the party. you can't just switch and start throwing or else only the first will be the type you want and the rest you throw will be what's closest.

That’s not true, it wasn’t true in the GameCube version, and this should be pretty similar to that.
@@gavinbunting7354 I should clarify that if multiple pikmin types are near you it will prioritize the type you select within a certain range, but if none of that type are within range THEN you will start throwing whatever is closest

Ah the submerged castle, my favorite dungeon. Happy to see videos on my favorite game. Also odd interaction with the water wraith, if a captain lays down with the five man nap sack, you can’t be crushed.

Btw, through the pikmin games of 1, 2 and 3, each had a strange seemingly supernatural creature.
1 had a blob materialise from thin air.
2 had the water wraith
3 had the plasm wraith
They were theorised to be possibly the same creature, or related. Pikmin 3 deluxe's Piklopedia both addresses that theory, and deconfirms it.
Plus, the Plasm Wraith's abilities and mannerisms are very different to the Water Wraith. Intelligence also seems greater, whereas Water Wraith isn't quite the brightest at times.
Plasm Wraith is the closest to the Umibozu concept of a creature dragging captains into the sea along with their ships. Water Wraith just attempts to squash them and pikmins.

Just a piece of feedback though: the video is way overedited. The pan/zooms and cuts to some meme lietrally every other sentence get very annoying very fast. It's cool to put effort into a cool edited viedo but it's also easy to overdo it

So, fun fact: I managed to beat this dungeon without encountering the Waterwraith a single time until the boss fight. I was so paranoid and filled with anxiety that I managed to scramble everything in time such that he never appeared. Either I was good at this dungeon, or I was incredibly lucky. I’m just calling it a fluke because that did NOT happen in… another game.

Randomly got this video in my recommended and I have to agree with the other commenters, it’s definitely way too overedited and it makes it hard to watch at times. I think it’d be much more enjoyable to watch if all the cuts to a meme were well, cut, lol.
The ones like at for example 9:33 arent that bad because it’s not like the ones where we’re abruptly cut from the gameplay to watch a random 3 second meme clip that adds nothing, or arguably takes away from the video.
All the serious editing of what gameplay clips were used, zooming in on treasures, highlighting chat messages is great, it looks really professional! It’s just the endless cuts and clips of random memes and jokes is all unneeded and might drive people away (although it probably helps keep those with very low attention spans lol)

I can tell from seeing both gameplay from the remake and even the gamecube version that it would be so difficult to play Pikmin and Pikmin 2 without being about to move the cursor like in the wii versions. Hope the waterwraith trauma didn’t effect you too much 🫡
