    Noisy Cab?? Not al all ! Just been for a test drive this morning in a 150ps DSG Highline transporter. Quieter than any transporter and I have had them all, T25, T4, T5 and now just ordered the T6.1.

    I have on order the 4 motion DSG Kombi LWB 199 bhp. I chose this over an MS-RT Transit custom for the 4wd, better suspension, better build quality etc…… my last van - a MWB transit, the gearbox rear main bearing shattered and caused me £4K for a new box, 2 months outside of warranty and Ford said F.U. I guess no vehicle is without fault but the VW is better and monthly payments are within £10 of each other. No brainier for me.

    I still have my 5.1 highline from 2013 and actually prefer it to a t6. T6 is a bit quieter in the cab but other than that there was nothing spectacular I felt I was getting for the extra £15 - 20k or so I'd need to spend to upgrade.
    It came with air-con, armrests, cruise control and a few other extras as it was a highlight. I had a standard 5 speed 5.1 before that which was horribly basic and gutless.
    Touch wood 🪵, I've done 130k miles and not had any problems......other than that stupid flip out cup holder spring breaking once.
    With the vpower diesel stuff if goes like a rocket. Mpg is pretty good too. 35 - 42 depending on journey and road type.. sorry t6/6.1 I'm sticking with what I have for the time being

    Looking for some help if poss as I’m tempted to take a punt on a T6.1 Highline. Would anyone recommend DSG? All I hear is
    It’s super expensive if/when it goes wrong…? BHP recommendations….148?

    Buying a 2021 VW T6 Transport for 36.000 euros with a DSG automatic transmission. Can I have some feed back on that? It has 28,000 kilometers

    Isn't this a minimal facelift because this is the last truly VW Transporter? I'm sure I read that the future 'T7' will be a design & manufacture co-lab' with Ford or Stellantis?? So it's maybe a collectors item van?!

      @bandit911 Před 2 lety +1

      And that's exactly why I'm thinking of changing my t5 and getting a new t6.1, because I believe it will be the last real transporter, time will tell I guess

    Dad has a Transit Custom but ended up with one of these for a week after someone decided they were gonna dent the side in with a headboard so it ended up in a body shop. One big thing that we found with these is that the plastics on the inside are not as nice as the Transit and the colour didn't work either as it was a light grey colour which looked really out of place with the rest of the inside and looks cheap. Price is a little over the top considering there was things that weren't on the VW compared to the transit and even then it was more to buy than a Limited spec Transit. Other than that a good van plenty of power just not value for money.

    Still tiny inside I’ll guess anyone over 6 foot will struggle to drive this comfortably after having previous experience of having one. Seats are also rock hard so if your doing the miles you will feel it feels more caddy size inside cab

    • @nickellingham1764
      @nickellingham1764 Před 2 lety +1

      That's true!! I'm only 5 foot 7 and have my seat back as far as possible on any transporter I drive and is perfect for me. Anyone much taller than me would get pissed off with this. My mate was put off by transporters purely due to lack of space for the driver. I'd imagine many people have chosen a different van purely because of this.

    I compare everything to my year old Citroen dispatch and there is not a chance I would choose the transporter over it. The infotainment system is nicer but my word the added fee for that badge is a madness. Transit custom by far the best van around i think

      Thing about the Transporter though is, it holds its value like no other van.
      l've had Ford and Renault vans that were great but practically worthless after five years.
      The Transporter is in a different league here, and l think one of the reasons is that people buy them to convert into campervans

    I’ve have a t6 for 4 years since new.
    Thought it was good until I drove a Transit Custom. They are so much better than the VW in every way.

    Never buy a Renault Transit diesel, our company spend over 20.000,00 euros on repairs in 20 year's

    I will say one thing , No one except badge snob is buying VW here. The VW is most unreliable one to get for Your buisness and most expensive one- whatever VW tries to do its still far behind the competition , i know in UK u guys love Transit, but Fiat rules the market ( and rest of them on same chassis)

    • @bandit911
      @bandit911 Před 2 lety +5

      I've had VW transporters from t3 and t4 syncros and now I drive a t5 4motion, and not one of those vans would I ever say was unreliable, I actually still have my 1988 t3 syncro (yes that's 33 yrs old) and still going strong, as far as I'm concerned they are the best vans on the road and I would never even consider a fiat or ford to be in the same class as VW when it comes to reliability or resale value, do either of those even make a 4wd version?? And why you say badge snobs?? Is it jealousy or what? I don't understand that

      Fiats are like tractors. Alongside its Peugeot and Citroen equivalent.
