I remember asking my crush to go to the movies with me. She said "yes" but then bring her crush to watch with us. I was like "fuck it" and tell them I'm not going. They went together, and I went to a CD store and bought the "In Love and Death" album with the money I saved that was supposed to pay for the movie tickets. Was so emo, right? Great memories!
I totally understand why they did this in a lower key than the studio version. This song's fuckin' hard to sing! Bert's vocals go really high on the studio version and because it was a single then obviously they were gonna be playing it every night. They needed to play it in a lower key so that Bert wouldn't hurt his throat from singing too high every night.

Idk how it is now, but I used to watch Stevens untitled rock show on fuse and trl on MTV. That was my shit in the early 2000. But what ruined MTV is mtv, not youtube at all. Vevo didn't even come out until a few years ago. And just this year youtube red showed up. CZcams didn't have anything to do with the downfall of good music television, the new music that's out now and this new generation did.

Not to say it wouldn't be nice, MTV was a great way to discover new songs. I just feel the radio can still do that fair enough, plus with stuff like the iHeartRadio app and Pandora, new songs can still be discovered easy enough. Heck, you can even just turn on youtube and let it play through random stuff.
