- With the Civic gone for a little bit, it's time to focus on some other cars that could use some love. Our friends over at CravenSpeed sent us this custom engraved short shifter kit along with the shift well cover to give it a real hot boy look. The stock shifter isn't terrible, but the subtle change is a nice improvement in look and feel.

Stay tuned for more crazy!
8:15 You can just wrench it normally to loosen the bolts, then hit the button.
Yeah that. I often do that with air ratchets if the air won’t break the bolt loose. They still function like a normal ratchet.
CravenSpeed is a great company. Just upgraded to their short shifter on my MINI.
the video production quality on this one is amazing, well done to the OG media team!
8:41 matt steps in like a terminator "what are you talking about you need to man up brice" hahaha i love it
The car and parts installs are always my favorite so I’m liking the idea of seeing more of these with a variety of platforms from the OG employees.
I had to laugh when Matt threatened to veto the shift well in favor of a shift boot lol. I would think that it'd be a dirt collection point (at least it would be for me) but hey, if you like it then it's all good. The Craven Speed stuff is generally nice quality, pretty easy little project...looks good.
Yeah I personally prefer a boot as well. But to be fair the bottom edges of boots often collect plenty of dust and junk also.
CravenSpeed makes such quality stuff
No blood hands and no rants. A job well done!
such a cool idea for a series. investment and support of your people. difference between a boss and a leader. good on ya.
Always like to see the ND2 content here! A year and half in and I'm still loving mine.
“you should work on cars that you don’t have to maintain”... Bryce... YOU’RE a genius!
@Landry Dax Yup, I have been watching on flixzone} for months myself =)
Matt, could you even see through the windshield while sitting in the passenger seat? It looks like that car is not at all tall people friendly haha
I've been looking at this kit for 4 months now!!!!! I really wish it wasn't over 500 bucks for the combo tho. :(
Video starts at 3:27
ND2 is a great little car, always fancied one
Really love the voice-overs at the end of the recent videos! 👍🏼
09:40 Today Matt ate the Humble Pie 🥧
“Old man strength”😂 I’ve always said grandpa power
Man muscle.
Did you notice a lot of rattling with the shifter?
Were longer screws provided in the kit with the spacer for the shifter housing? looks like you reused the old ones
Pretty sweet Matt and Bryce Always thought that the stock shifter was one of the best feeling shifters out there but hey if you can make it even better cool. I’m thinking maybe A piece of aluminum painted the same color as the car you know how the color comes in on the door panels A little color there might appear almost stock and might look really good? Well done gentlemen stay safe👍
Isn’t there a nylon bushing that goes on the ball at the end of the shifter
?
Love incorporating the use of some of the Milwaukee line-up..
Would have really loved to see a quick test run with the new shift hardware..
I had a short short throw shifter on my Acura 1.6el, 18 years ago lol
I’ve had the same short throw shifter in my Integra for the past 18+ years! Stock height, much shorter throws. I don’t do the shorter height thing.
Thinking of getting one for my and ND MX5. How does it affects shifting and driving?
that noise at 16:37
Oh man lol I knew what you were talking about even before I clicked on the time stamp! Almost sounds like there was a whoopie cushion under the seat! 😂😂😂
"Wet noodle bullcrap" LOL
That looks pretty legit. I need to get something different for my Mustang, make the shifts a little more positive feeling.
Fantastic video. I’ve been looking into an ND and this is superb timing. Not sure I’m a fan of the boot delete, shift boots are such a classic sports car feature. But the shifter seems interesting.
"Let me do some power shifting here"😂
CravenSpeed is great, i got their short antenna for my c5z!
I love the video however I will never touch my transmission on my ND2 so that Mazda can’t screw me on my drivetrain warranty. I love the recaro seats though!!!!
It's worth noting this does void transmissions warranty. Based on the numbers, it's not such a big deal with ND2, but worth mentioning for ND1 owners.
There is no such thing as voiding a warranty.
@@ObsessedGarage Well it happened, Mazda will not honored the drivetrain warranty on the transmission with a short shifter even though it has nothing to do with the failure (easy out).
I wish i knew about this before i bought the corksport
The short shifter is sick just dont really like the no boot look
I had this in my MX5. The shifter felt great, but unfortunately it created too much noise, fairly unbearable to deal with on a daily.
I ended up returning the shifter, which CravenSpeed refunded in full, awesome service from their staff. Great company, highly recommended.
I've bought many their other products too, everything is high quality, but unfortunately this shifter wasn't suitable for me.
I can't for more the em1 building
Awesome job guys!
Another quality video!
Thought it was going to be a 15 minute job 30 mins max. The shifter base is a pain in the ass to get off. I've been cussing and doubting my abilities, telling it how stupid it is.
Looks clean
You should have let Matt do the shifter. It would have been an hour video.
Looks pretty sweet👍

Where is the civic ?
Getting stereo done in Boston.
These guys have serious vocal fry.
Boys, nominclature! Stop referring to parts as thing-a-majigs!
i bet it’s been mentioned but you can use the ratchet as a wrench... loved the product spotlight “sold in our store” crap but cmon y’all smart enough.
Put a fricken microfiber on the seat, you animals. Putting tools on a delicate surface is not an
OG standard!
Are you telling the literal OG, what's OG?
Get real. Our butts and pants slide all over the seats getting in and out. They’re not a “delicate surface”. Those bolts and tools certainly won’t hurt anything.
