When an audio company can't get their audio right in a youtube video... -_-

Love me a bit of Alpine, running the X series woofers and I clamp 1.4k each on them daily and they just take it! Great product and very very underrated! Can do a heck of a lot more than it says on the box

I have the v2 of the orignal x series. best sounding subs i've ever heard. Major flaw with them though. The tinsel lead break in the spiders.

I've got a 2007 Toyota Tundra Crewmax TRD.
I came across an old school Alpine MRD-F752 Tri-path Technology 5 channel amp. My son had a Memphis Audio 10" sub connected to it. The box was 1.4 cubic feet, with a 4" port about 23" long if I recall. But it sounded absolutely amazing.
The specs on the amp are:
    4 x 75 @ 4 ohms with 0.08% THD, 1 X 250 @ 4 ohms with 0.03% THD.
My head unit was a gift, (Kenwood DDX6906S).
I like extremely clean sounding audio, I don't like extremely harsh tweeters, I like the midrange/midbass to sound tight and quick, but also be able to dig down into the 60Hz to 65Hz range.
The sub, I prefer the sound of a 15", that sounds really good from about 28Hz upto 70Hz.... but I do not have the real-estate required for that size of sub.
So I'm thinking either two 8" subs, or one 10" or one 12".
With the equipment I've listed above, what speakers do you think would be best, the type X, or the type R?
    Thanks in advance.

Can't speak much for the new line of speakers but I'm not a big fan of the older version of Alpine components...but I'm a huge believer in Alpine amps when it comes to sound quality. I've ran everything from Focal,Hertz/Audison,JL and so on. I will 100% be running the x series amps in my next build.

I would run something with a high db rating. I know Hertz make very efficient speakers a lot of them run @ 90+ db. If your on a budget try the Hertz Dieci line, They are cheap and require low wattage and I believe they run around 92db. In Canada they're running on sale right now for $98 (visions) a pair for components. I know JL C1 line is also efficient and fairly cheap but I'm not a big fan of JL... love their subs but dollar for dollar I find their higher end door speakers and just not worth it.

@@pdiddy8778 Oh yup sounds good.Ok so i found a cheap deal on the Hertz DCX165.3 Dieci Series.Components in front ,coaxials in back to run off my new Kenwood headunit DPX793BH.I just brought.
I want a Shallow 10 inch SUB from JL Audio but it cost soo much ,might have to go Rockford fosgate P300 300 watt poewred sub enclose sealed.

Are the x series tweeters finally flush mountable. Or will there be a mounting bracket available to flush mount, as I have the x series components now. And as you know, you can only surface mount them

ive always wondered why you guys got rid of the kevlar cone of the type x. i really like the design from back in the day. was there an issue with them?

    • @AlpineTV
      @AlpineTV  Před 5 lety +4

Kevlar was a great material at the time but we’re always looking for new innovations in materials that work in harmony with the rest of the design of the subwoofer.
