@@BrianSchafferright? It’s just uncharacteristic of Dan to cheat on Roseanne, for those of us who actually watched the show from the beginning. He LOVES her. It was way out of left field to make him a cheater.

This show, described middle class America in the late 80s-90s to a molecule. I remember watching this with my mom and dad as kid regularly. Damn I miss my parents. lol. Be well everyone!
I lived this scenario. Nothing can prepare you for the person you’ve been closest to in the world for over 20 years, suddenly looking at you like you’re a stranger, and telling you they’re now with someone else as easily as if they changed their mind about what kind of sandwich to have for lunch.
This comment has been repeated a thousand times, but even though this show only ran for like 8-9 years, affected an entire generation and moved us all. If you were born between about 1978-1988 then you grew up with it. I was born in 1988 and my earliest memories are from this show. Not sure how far back I can remember, but it was probably around age 3 or 4 I can remember sitting with my mum and dad, big sis and little bro. Then ages like 6/7/8 I remember sitting in my grandparents with the whole family watching this on a 22 inch box TV. It portrayed working class families perfectly. Busy, noisy, grafting, broke 90% of the time, but everyone had everything they needed, houses were always warm, clean but messy, always a random family member staying over, mum's sisters and sister in laws always in the kitchen smoking 40 cigs a day, dad and his brothers & brother in laws chilling watching sports or out in the garden. A million kids, good wholesome food, never a dull moment. We were genuinely happy. Like kids raised before and after the 80s - early 00s will never understand the happiness we felt. That huge feeling of being content. Going to the shopping mall was a whole day out. Within malls they had places to get proper meals like macaroni cheese, spag bol, pizza etc etc. Mum would give each of us $/£2 for the arcade or gumball machine. At home everyone was talking, interacting and the smiling and laughing was always present. I don't see any of that nowadays. I raise my kids in a very similar fashion and so do most of my close friends and family, but people whom I know but aren't best friends with, I go to theirs sometimes and their kids are either on an iPad/iPhone or watching CZcams in the TV and the place is silent apart from the shows being watched. I remember once I started talking and my mate says "don't talk so loud, they're trying to chill" as in I couldn't have a laugh and a conversation in case I disturbed the kids!! I left immediately and went home and my kids came running up to me and the wife was making food and singing "Charles and Eddie" It's genuinely so sad to see the world like it is.
The craziest thing they were just acting, actors actresses. They started as a wholesome family but it shaped a generation throughout. They were fake families but we related as apart of our upbringing. It’s called programming for a reason hence the mockin laughter. the progamming spoke to us related to us it was part the plan
This scene broke me that Dan had another romance with someone else behind Roseanne's back and I cried so hard and I stopped watching this show after that.
It's always wrong to cheat. If you are unhappy or you realize you are unhappy with your relationship you discuss this with your partner and take actions accordingly. That being said, I know there was a certain dynamic going on between Roseanne and Dan. But I do think she took him for granted. She loved him but I don't think she was affectionate enough or showed the affection. Of course, never a reason to cheat but it could create a rift between them.
This is where it gets frustrating, this season. They weren’t staying true to the character. Dan Conner would’ve NEVER strayed on his wife and done something to break up his family
I love this show, but by time season 6-7-8-9 i didn't really care for after Becky left and Sarah chalke took her place it felt forced z and was boring. Then when they won the lottery i really didn't watch. Only the ending, which was a brilliant twist. Then season 10 was good, not as good but i hung in there. Then... Roseanne said something daft, not really that big of a deal.. she apologized for it. Abc and the bloody universe took it to far. They all betrayed her, killed her off.The cast..(most) wouldn't be were they are, NOW, if it wasn't for Roseanne. Yet Will Smith that.. Gobshite, slapped Chris rock and nothing was done. He received his bullshite award, shed a few tears, but wasn't punished..a real punishment...smh.. ridiculous..we still love you Roseanne 👍🏻💯
I can't remember what interview it was but I remember sometime that John Goodman said that Roseanne was the best actor he ever worked with. It shows here.
Roseanne is missed. Bring her back. Nobody is perfect. She owned her truth, and the consequences were unthinkable, unnecessary, and a mistake. Should have turned it into an episode, not her death.😢
