My 2nd cousin Carol Beers wrote the script for the movie "The Point", which included "Me and my Arrow and this song. Harry was very talented and so was Carol, she died of lung cancer at 63 and he died of a heart attack at 52, but they left us all with a bit of their creative magic. RIP.

I was about 12 when the movie and cartoon came on tv. LOVED it! I'd been looking for it for a long time as my original tape was long gone. My kids bought another one for me but now I don't have a tape player. :) Followed Nilsson afterwards.

Yes, RIP Carol and Harry. I was stressed so I found this tonight and put it on repeat. I remember KLOS in LA as a kid playing the entire album with Harry narrating then seeing much of it at night when I wasn't watching Monty Python and SNL was new. In the earlier era music and movies were censored like art and social media is today. In the late 60's to mid 70's EVERYTHING was wide open, Richard Pryor helped write Blazing Saddles etc. This album and Schmilsson 1 and 2 was Harry was at his peak. Buurrp, excuse me.

I'm a 90's child, but my dad introduced me to this movie... I grew up with "The Point", Moody Blues, The Strawbs, King Crimson, Jon Anderson, That funny song "Hocus Pocus" by Focus... (I thought song was the best when I was little)... My dad's lullabies to me consisted of "Voyage to the Moon" I know Donovan did it but Mary Hopkins was who I listened to... I would give anything to go back to being a kid... my little sister passed away in 2013, my mom in 2018... and now my dad has been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer... I find myself facing losing both my parents and I'm not even out of my twenties.... and life seems so hard... but I listen to this song and remember the little girl that loved this song... and it's comforting.... thanks for uploading!

I didn't discover this until 1988 (I was 13 at the time) when they played the entire film (narrated by Alan Thicke) on Disney Channel. It literally woke my mind up to not judging people on their differences but rather WHO they are as humans. The album and story, though sad at times, has a very positive message. Don't judge people just because they're different than yourself. We're all equal and the human race is a wonderful melting pot of cultures

It was narrated by Dustin Hoffman. Recently, I got the DVD for a five-year old. He wasn't stoned, of course, but I think he enjoyed it every bit as much as I had all those years ago. But the evil count scared him a bit, and he covered his eyes. The DVD was narrated by Ringo Starr. I liked the Dustin Hoffman version better.

You can, my friend. Get the "medications" the composer used just then!

    Sit beside the breakfast table
    Think about your troubles
Pour yourself a cup of tea
    Then think about the bubbles
    You can take your teardrops
And drop them in a teacup
Take them down to the riverside
And throw them over the side
To be swept up by a current
    Then taken to the ocean
To be eaten by some fishes
Who were eaten by some fishes
    And swallowed by a whale
    Who grew so old
    He decomposed, ooh
    Doo-doo
    Doo-doo
He died and left his body
To the bottom of the ocean
    Now everybody knows
    That when a body decomposes
    The basic elements
Are given back to the ocean
And the sea does what it oughta
And soon there's salty water (not too good for drinking)
'Cause it tastes just like a teardrop (so they run it through a filter)
And it comes out from a faucet (and it pours into a teapot)
Which is just about to bubble
    Now
    Think about your troubles
    Oh, oh, oh, oh
    Ah, ah, ah, ah
    Ah, ah, ah, ah
