I use to fall asleep to this sound when I was homeless living out of my van. I had nowhere to go. The rain hitting the car was very soothing for me, on a strange level. I thought I was confined and hopeless. I'm still working hard to achieve financial stability. I will fall asleep to this tonight, in my bed, as a reminder of where I was one year ago.

I have Major Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, and Borderline Personality Disorder. My mental illnesses are so severe that I'm getting a service dog. As I wait for that it's hard to relax and sleep. Medicine and therapy is not enough sometimes. The instant I heard the rain against the car I felt my body completely relax which I haven't felt in ages! I am so thankful. This comment section is so nice too! I feel snuggled up is a car with so many people in a sleepover! Just sharing stories and listening to the rain! Car rides were a nightmare as a kid for me. I get carsick, my parents would argue, my brother would scream. But on long drives, when night fell, and we were driving through areas with heavy rain or even thunder storms, every one would calm down. My brother would fall asleep, my parents would stop fighting, and everything was just....right in the world. The hum of the engine, the slight rumble of tires over the road, soft music crackling over the radio on low, heat from the floor vents wafting back under the front seats and rising up around me. And the soft pelting of rain on the roof and windows. If I had a heaven, it would be those moments just before slumber on trips like that where everyone was calm, stretched on for eternity.

I told this girl I still had feelings for her, and she told me that’s she still has feelings for me and feels the same way.

When I was younger I would sit out in the rain and let it fall on me. Eventually I had to go back inside but I'd always sit and listen to the rain hitting my window and I'd hear the thunder. Everytime it would rain I'd always feel refreshed and calmed. My mother would tell me that when it rains it was washing all of the bad away and making room for the good. There is just something about rain that just makes me feel better than I have been. All week I've had nothing but stress and a lot of pain, listening to this has made me feel better. Maybe I'll be able to sleep tonight ☺ goodnight everyone, I hope you all sleep well and that whatever happens to you in the future is good.

This is the start you also need to learn to mediate on the word SLEEP whenever your mind wonders while you are trying to go to sleep you bring it back to that word and everything associated with it.. Plus no stimulants a hour before bed. You don't say what emotional stresses you are under. They play a big part in insomnia. You need to start prepping for bed a hour before you lay down. Exercise is a must to burn off nervous tension and stress. Min 20 mins. food and diet another you must look into. Your on the right road for a good natural sleep. No No NO sleeping pills.
