Sam and Travis both breaking, then making eye contact and losing it even more HURT ME DEEPLY. The Dads were struggling. Such an amazing goddamn mini-series holy fuuuuuck
These dads were having a ROUGH go, and man I don't blame them. I don't even have kids and I was crying
The quantity of FEELS dished out during this was off the charts. Only the coldest of hearts might have had a chance to not suffer emotional damage
Yo does everyone get a free therapy session after this, 'cause I'm coming back to this and damn. Just. DAMN.
One of the most human moments I've ever seen in a tabletop game. Calamity was something really special, man.
I dream I could have a group of PCs like this.
Couldn't agree more. Those would be sessions to remember!
i have watched this so many times... and still i get tears in my eyes every time ...
At least it's helping keep your eyes moisturized! Might be chewing through your tissues though and I apologize =(
6:06 when Sam‘s (and my) heart shattered
“‘𝘋𝘢𝘥-' ‘I have to 𝘨𝘰.' And I 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘷𝘦." This exchange will never not leave me in tatters
Agree 100% with you. Never create a family in D&D if you want to escape without emotional trauma!
"You will always be five years old to me no matter how much you grow..."
He pulled these lines from the depths of his soul. Any good father would feel this way about their child. That kind of love is downright primordial, baked into our very being.
I've watched and listened to a lot of dnd and nothing gets me like this scene
my hope is that even in hell Xerxus can somehow fight his way against the devil and maybe some time, some way, make his way back to his family
In my head, I would like to see Elias as he is called upon by the Dawn Father, becomes his champion resembling Siegfried from Soul Calibur IV, and spends the next 850 years preparing to save his father, Xerxus and stop Asmodeus, to which results in a battle against the champions of the Prime Deities, similar to Return Of The Jedi.
@@KalebKing88 Holy Tostito what a story you've crafted here. I'd like to see this.
The "parents and their children stuff" in this campaign were fucking painful.
My headcanon is Laren made a simulacra surrogate for Eladrin and Zerxus
Was there any information as to how their son was brought into the world? I don't remember if there was...
@@JudgementFish Evandrin already had Elias when he met Zerxus, that's the only info we got
In the behind the scenes thing they did, it was discussed that Laerryn was most likely the mother but this plot line never came up in game.
@@jamesryan9825 it was discussed that they talked about making her the mother but thought it would bring unwanted tension so they discarded that idea

I like how you edited the audio in 6:57, 7:19, and 7:42.
I love all these videos you've made. Fantastic work! But in this one I've forgotten what the meaning is with the basket and the spellkite. What was it again?
The spellkites were used to send letters and objects to family when they were returning from their 7 year journey around the world. I'm assuming since he forgot to send something welcoming him home or saying how much he was missed he somehow believed he was responsible for what was going on. Kinda like how children might internalize and believe how they may be responsible for parents divorcing. That may be wrong but that's what I thought =)
@@JudgementFish I took it as Elias was angry at his fathers lack of attention towards him and that’s why he didn’t send the kite and that’s why he was sorry
The video thumbnail says "GOOBYE" instead of "GOODBYE"... Otherwise, great.
