Believe is THE hard rock ballad. Nothing else even comes close. Easily one of the greatest songs I've ever heard. That harmony section is pure heaven. This is proof that God exists. Criss's touch on the guitar was unparalleled. He had bits of Randy Rhoads, Eddie Van Halen, Michael Schenker, Terry Kath, Steve Howe, Brian May - and yet he sounded completely unique. He had it all.
I agree, but sometimes I think WHEN THE CROWDS ARE GONE is better.

Criss had magic in his hands... He was a great guy with a great sense of humor. He is missed by his friends family and many who never met him.. It is nice we can still listen and remember him.
The harmony section??? Never heard of that term. Harmony is created once there are intervals played simultaneously, which happens throughout like 99% of all songs ever recorded, and certainly throughout the entirety of "Believe".

I have yet to hear another vocalist sing with as much passion and heart. Ive been a fan since Sirens and can't get enough. Savatage is Metal. Savatage is life 🤘🏻🤘🏻

For me streets a rock opera is the best concept album in rock/metal history, it's the strongest album both music and lyrics, but especially in those two final songs the lyrics are philosophy, the kind that deals with the questions about god, human beings and life, jon oliva sings the songs with a deep emotional vocals as if he sings about himself while criss oliva, the master of guitar played the solo on the song believe with a harmonic/melodic/feel like never before or after, this album from beginning to end is a masterpiece of a lifetime

Epic Timeless Masterpiece
I had this album twice, first time on cassette and second time on CD. Definitely their best album i think though i love Hall Of The Mountain King and Gutter Ballet.

Someday when I finally achieve room temperature, I'll try to climb up the Stairway, sneak past the old bearded Saint guy in the robe, and slip in through the Gates. And if I somehow manage to get away with all of that, I fully expect to find Jon and Criss jamming out to this live, on stage. That's when I'll know I'm in Heaven.

"Believe" - *Check* "Speakers up to melting point" - *Check*. When I go I want this playing at my Funeral.
On some other song's comment page, someone said, "If they don't play (my favorite song) at my funeral, I'm not going."
I like that. For me, it's "Hole in the Sky" by Black Sabbath or, maybe, "Spiral Architect" for the applause at the end. Can't hardly wait...
