  • Let's take the DJI Mini 3 Pro to the mountains in the backyard of my home in Switzerland and see what that baby can do when confronted with high altitude, sheer rock faces, wind gusts blowing over ridges, and obstacles everywhere!
No narration; just 8 minutes of mountain bliss. Features and settings used:
    • ActiveTrack Trace and Parallel
    • Spotlight
    • Normal flight with obstacle "bypass" setting
All footage recorded in 4K 30p D-CineLike with basic grading in Davinci Resolve. Static shots in the first part of the video recorded with the DJI Pocket 2.
5-star signal strength throughout the flight with no dropouts.

Great video! Can i ask you, if you are flying manually after 1:30 minute or this is an automatic "parallel" set-up? I am using Mini 4 Pro, since a shorter period of time and would like to be able to fly over hills/mountains in a smooth way, following the natural terrain/slope and would appreciate your help and guidance. Thank you in advance,

Hello, this was a fully manual flight. Or, more precisely, a sequence of several individual manual flights in the area with a change of take-off location and batteries inbetween to ensure the best line of sight, signal strength and flight time for each individual flight.

    Awesome! What altitude was this?

Thanks! Those peaks and ridges are around 2800m above sea level, enough for a "flying at high altitude" warning on the controller 😅

@@berglandvideo From what I've seen the Mini performed flawlessly. Amazing vid thanks for sharing and for your reply :)

Have you tested ir above 3000m altitude? One of the reason I chose in the past Dji air intead of mini was that spec (Air limit is up to 5000m). Mini was supposed to go well up to 3000m but I saw some reviews in which the drone felt above 2500m. Mini 3 should be better but still, not sure if it will fly well over 3000m. I really like mini 3 but we will fly it a lot over 2500 so we need to ensure good stability at that altitude. Thanks

I haven't tested it above 3000m yet, but I've flown it repeatedly between 2800-2900m without problems. I don't see any reason preventing it from flying well above 3000m, apart from wind conditions at these altitudes. While the video footage is very stable, the drone itself does have to fight quite a bit in strong wind conditions. Bringing the drone back and landing it safely or hand-catching it in turbulence on exposed terrain was quite challenging for me sometimes, much more than with my former and heavier Mavic Air 2.

I tested over 3000 m altutude...Taking off between 3700 and 4000 m.a.s.l. Very stable, even with high winds. Video in: czcams.com/video/CpjQgmUHnt8/video.html

is it a physical constraint (thin air) or does the software not allow it to fly higher than 3000m?

I took my Mini pro 3 to 14,000 feet this weekend and it executed the master shots not once but twice flawlessly
