I purposely ran it the first time as Proboat set it up just like a newb would.
It's a little disappointing that it doesn't achieve the factory quoted speed without upgrading the prop.
Also has an issue where it shuts off for no reason after you've screwed the lid down, I had to reopen the lid and turn it on again (twice) twice during this test - once was after i launched the boat and had to retrieve it which was a real pain! I suspect the switch is faulty so ill bypass that and power up when the battery is connected
I'm guessing i got a boat that was made late on a Friday afternoon!

That's a huge difference with the rc boat bitz prop. We have a V1 so best we order one and get 1 for the TFL princess as well. They had a 50mm on and it would overheat even with a 4074 2000 kv. Tried a few other props and runs cold now. Those rc boat bitz props are amazing.

I also had big trouble with the Geiko 36 melting it's liner , was red hot. Used a rc boat bitz liner and no problems now just warm. They seem too tight on the flex cables from factory. Motors were aligned perfect so had to be the liners .

Sounds brutal. Mine doesn't South like that at all. BUT I managed to get water into the receiver box and my boat after 2.5 battery packs is out of commission now. Aggravated. I can't wait to get it back out.

Agree, the stock prop cavitates like crap and takes ages to get out of the hole. I ran 2 x 3s 50c 5000mah packs and an X447.. got up to 95kmph. Going to try a 6s 100 c pack with a 1716. Should crack a ton plus im hoping!

Have you tried the Oxidean 4519 blue prop on your sonicwake?? I’ve heard that’s a good prop as well. Just looking to compare which prop is better for speeds and stability. Not sure which one to buy haha

My sonic wake v2 sounded like yours out of the box. I took it easy on the maiden, realized what was going on and stopped before any damage was done. Really surprised the handbook doesn't say pull the shaft out and properly grease it, or have a warning label on the boat stating the shaft needs greasing properly. The layer it comes with is so minimal. I initially set my battery forward as per recommended in the manual, I quickly realized they need to be rearward to get the boat running nicely. I have not adjusted my trim tabs at this point as I run in the ocean which is rough water by comparison. The trim tab position seems about right. My biggest issue is the way it chews through a battery pack. I am looking to better match a prop to the boat that gives me a better battery life. I am happy to trade a few km/h to achieve this as the boat is plenty fast in the choppy water. Could you recommend a prop to do this? Thanks Allen
