I live in Lyon and I can tell you that you missed the most beautiful part of the city called: OLD LYON which was built between the 10th and 18th centuries. There is St. Jean Cathedral (built in the 10th century)

After that you will be close to Spain, so maybe you will cross the border to visit Barcelona !!!

The church is a smaller version of Notre Dame, which i believe won't reopen until December. It is a beautiful town to visit when you go to Paris. Besides the US , Europe has some of the best transportation systems to get around when it comes to the train. Oh, China is up there to being the cheapest of all when it comes to taking a cab ride

Hello Ace ! The first building you went to is called "Grand Hotel Dieu" wich means "Hospital of God". The name comes from the XIII century and it was how we called some hospitals in big cities in France. In Lyon it was abandoned for many years because it costed too much money to the city to maintain, then sold and renovated. Now one part belongs to the Intercontinal Hotel and the other part is a trendy place for shopping, eating or having a drink/coffee It's a pity I couldn't see you in Lyon. Oh and I forgot one thing : Lyon is the capital of gastronomy of France ! PS : I can't believe you went to O'Tacos... it's the worst place to taste the authentic French Tacos that originally come from...Lyon ! Why ? Because it's a fast food chain that is not even from this city. You should have gone to "La Marinade" the most famous Tacos place in Lyon and people from all around Lyon and France come there. The best tacos are in suburbs because that's where they were created.

Hello, I'm white and my girlfriend is black and we live in a city near Paris (Évry-Courcouronnes) and there are at least 60% black people and everything is fine. PARIS is much more tolerant and welcoming to blacks than other cities in France (I go out at night and never seen racist conflicts but outside Paris yes).
