The baby snake necked turtles are getting bigger and they need a new turtle tub habitat with a lot less algae in it. I've got a great idea to dress the new home up with some universal rocks. From my understanding 😅even when I was breeding rabbits(15yrs ago) for 4h club: I used the runts from each litter I produced.
People often wonder why? Well the smallest ones,especially if they are males usually have the most genetics(not so much the looks and personally) however they were the healthiest of the who set. Genetics and health are the number one thing in animal husbandry, than personality,growth rate and color/patterns and textures. ..
And that's why when I pair a smaller male to a bigger robust female: usually I receive a wider diversity of long,tall,wide and colorful rabbits. It happens with cats,dogs,birds and fish/reptiles and spiders as well.. "diversity is key to victory 🙌." 🤠

I love seeing Matt get more hands on with every video. As a woman, I wouldn't want to be crouched down in that water. I'd be afraid of getting bacteria all up in my hoo-hoo! 😮
That’s what wading gear is for. I’d do it with wading gear and bug spray. 😂

Gloriously mucky, the old pond was obviously perfect turtle habitat. All the residents look hale, hearty and happy. (Animal habitats aren't human habitats, which is why we MUST leave them space to live as they like. Probably wouldn't hurt US to live in a less sterile world, either.)

I turned a 100 gallon livestock tub into an enclosure for my pet five lined skinks but I do bring them onto my enclosed back porch during the winter. I just don't wanna take the chance of them freezing to death during the winter because I lost a few of them 2 years ago when it got down to 5 degrees. It stays between 35 to 40 degrees on my back porch. It's cold enough to hibernate but not freeze to death.
I remember seeing Chinese Box Turtles in “Petland” pet shops back in the day. They’d even have the occasional Flowerback Box Turtle - all in totally dry tanks (and usually barely alive.) I started to dislike going in those pet shops because of their abject neglect. They went bankrupt during the beginning of covid so...

You know what i realised...
There are no videos on the internet of green, blue, yellow tree monitors kept outdoors except the one you have made at Tom's place.
It would be whild if you had some so that we, who can not keep monitors as big as Slinky can se how they evolve, adapt, possibly breed outdoors, cage ideeas etc.

Hi Kenen Sir, Really inspired by your work. Insted of doing that enclosure like the way you did, can you please dig a pond like structure for that tub to fit completely under ground level and make a fence around that structure that turtles cannot escape. Then plants can also never get trimmed...

Why didn´t you use the relocation to clean the shells of the baby turtles? They can get infections from all the alge and dirt...

My three year old son, Zayd, and myself would love to jump in turtle soup with you to find more turtles!!!! Every time you pick up a turtle my son goes what kind is that and I just go off of what you say if I don’t already know. My son absolutely loves turtles and tortoises. Wouldn't it have been safer for your health if you used a pool skimmer to remove the solid matter. That looks like any slight cut or abrasion you could have is subject to infection from that merky watwe. Safety first, Kenan. 🐢👍🏻

This might sound silly but will the bigger turtles in the pond try and hurt the baby turtles? Is that the reason why you won’t just move them to the bigger pond?

Sorry to say but that hybrid is why your turtles should be in separate tubs. Hybrid turtles do nothing for the hobby but appeal to people. If Conserving bloodlines and species is what you want to do, creating hybrids isnt the way to do it.
I have a question Kenan, why is it ok to put the turtles into a fresh set up enclosure and it not affect them like it would for a fish. I know you have to set up your aquarium for fish and let it sit for a couple weeks or so before you can put the fish in it or they will most likely die. Why does it not affect the turtles the same?
