  • Polyvagal theory exercises and self-massage to fall asleep fast and stay asleep. In this Do-It-While-You-View-It-Video, we show you a way to move your head and eyes to relieve your anxiety and help you sleep. The exercises are based on polyvagal theory and are designed to relieve stress and anxiety and help you sleep naturally. They are inspired by Stanley Rosenberg’s book “Accessing the Healing Power of the Vagus Nerve.”
    Discover a simple calming way to ease yourself into sleep by removing anxiety. This exercise will also help you fall back asleep if you wake up. Learn how to calm an over active sympathetic nervous system and activate your parasympathetic nervous system. Do the exercise and belly massage in bed while watching the video and discover how to get a great night’s sleep by eliminating stress and anxiety.

    Thank you, I tried this last night. I had harder time to keep my eyes toward right. I tend to have anxiety and fear before going sleep. I think I slept better but will try this more to find out.

    Hi, I've just found this video and am looking forward to trying it toniight. As i tend to wake during the night, is it important to sit up to do these exercises are can we do them lying down? Thanks so much

    Question: you said we’re flexing the thoracic spine but I was only moving the cervical spine. Did I miss something?

      You didn't miss anything if your cervical spine was flexed your thoracic spine was also flexed but less so you may not have noticed it. Did the video help you sleep?

    I really wished this helped, have done it repetitively when wide awake & anxious in the middle of the night, but it isn’t making any difference. 😢
