Pure elegance! Watching Edberg in those three Wimbledon finals on television at a remote Indian village as a schoolkid remains one of my most cherished childhood memories.
The most elegant and the best volleyer of all in the tennis history.
Elegant yes. Some would argue if he was the best volleyer. Maybe Johnny.
There's never been a better volleyer than Edberg, and with how the game is played today there never will be!
Right? I miss a great serve & volley player. They need to take some pace off of the ball.
@@fishbone3333Pace off the ball? Courts are slow that is why everyone stays behind baseline. They need to make it faster.
So much to admire about Edberg’s game and demeanour.
the style is so elegant.
La définition même de l'Élégance au tennis! Un joueur tout simplement extraordinaire. La grande classe à la vollée !
What a legend of our sport!
Edberg vs Becker, Wimbledon, prime example of serve and volley,Edberg came out top.ple asure watching him play, elegant, smooth and superb.
Definitely in the top 3 S&V of all time and the consummate sportsman and gentleman
if you wanna learn serve & volley or chip & charge - this is the player to watch and learn from! Period.
I've always been super impressed with the snap of his wrist when he serves. The split second timing needed to do it perfectly is amazing.
Quand le tennis devenait de l'Art cela s'appelait du Stefan Edberg❤
sublime tennis
Vollying isn’t easy. He made it look easy.
He makes it look so easy
Stefan Edberg and Roger Federer are the most elegant players in tennis history
the speed than he gets to the line to split is unbelievable
Better style in Tennis History period.
⚜️
WE DONT LOSE
Takes a lot more skill to be a s&v player than sitting back at the baseline murdering the ball.
Leggenda
la classe la classe jai debuté avec lui
One of the best volleyers
The best serve&volleyer after the big 3 (Kramer, Laver, Sampras)
as great as Stefan was, I don't think he would be serve and volleying agai Novak or Raffa or Carlos.
It's not about he would be serve and volley against the players you mention.
It's about adapting the game, something that makes players legends.
Edberg is a legend. He would have adapted to any generation.
His successes have been achieved across seasons, surfaces and multiple generation of opponents.
Winning 800+ singles matches is no mean feat.
Edberg kick service is maybe the most elegant thing I've ever seen on a tennis court.
