I really don't understand the need to constantly compare each singer and to say who is better, and to trash Tarja's voice and say Floor is perfection. In the end Tarja was also founder of the band, whether people like it or not, we probably wouldnt even know the band if it wasnt for the fact that all the members including HER were a great team. You just need to let it go! I enjoy Tarja and Floor, they have different styles, they are different people! They're even friends! So why do you still fight about who is best?

And Tarja always had the IT factor in spades. People love criticising other people...they like inventing mistakes and instead of enjoying every moment,every day,every song from these two different but exceptional voices and be happy with the differences on these voices they simply prefer searching for negative things to say..If those who do this spent half of that time searching things to improve theirselves we would live in a perfect world..
Three yeas too late but to me, the one who makes Nightwish, Nightwish is Tuomas, not Tarja, not Anette and not Floor. He is the one who does it all for the band.
This performance is actually pretty terrible. The verses make my ears bleeding. The chorus goes better tho. She has done this song better but still can't beat Floor's performance in any song. No one can at the moment.
That is your opinion, of course. I personally think Tarja did pretty well during this festival. She has had better days, of course. It all comes down to taste and personal preference. I love Tarja's operatic singing and dark chest voice, others will not like it and that is okay. I LOVE Floor in Nightwish and to their newer music style she is an improvement for such songs as Amaranth, in my humble opinion. But to my own personal taste, I think Tarja has much more power during Slaying the Dreamer--others will think different. Both Tarja and Floor are wonderful singers with different styles and both are friends in real life.

One thing the whole Nightwish controversy proved is that a pure opera trained voice don't gel 100% with distortion. Floor's harsher delivery that is heard in almost all of her songs brings so much more to the table to make it special.

My God....Tarja just keeps getting HOTTER every single year. IS she wearing that outfit, or is that outfit wearing HER?!?!?!? I love how the backup band is just LOVING jamming out to some classic Nightwish tunes. Definitely a muddy live mix, but what do you expect from an outdoor festival? I will say that as hot and gorgeous as Tarja is, she is REALLY AWKWARD and GOOFY on stage. It actually takes just a smidge away from the overall effect of her vocal prowess.

Shit Shit Shit it's close to 20th anniversary when Tarja Leaves the Nightwish. I was on the last show with her, jesus christ time is really bad ;) i was 28 in 2006 and now im 45 ;) Anyway Good bless Tarja and help her sings how long she can sing on her potential range.
I see many comments complaining abot Ever Dream, but bear in mind it's just some fixation Tarja has with her chest voice. For some reason she chooses to not use her head voice, and that silly fixation began around 2004 with songs like Over the Hills and Far Away, when she started exploring that part of her range. I really hope she will see it and will choose better when to use her chest and her head voice.
her chest voice sounds so heavy and off-key, and when she use it on old songs is out of place!! I hate the fast shifts she does between head and chest voice, they're too abrupt and ugly!!
Not off key but she lower her larynx too much to create a darker sound wich is very usual for lyrical singing so it works for her head voice very nicely but for chest it sounds way too dark and dry, even maleish sometimes so it doesn't connect very well with the rest of her voice making it sound kinda off, hope she realizes that soon, it is interesting for some songs though, but not all the time like she's been doing. Her classic concerts seems to only get better though and it shows that it's just a stylistc choice.
I think she should go to a rock academy and learn how to sing more belting. I'm sure that it would help her a lot. She is trying to change the way of her singing style, but this takes some time and effort, olso she'll need a good vocal coache.
I love both Tarja and Floor as they're both amazingly talented and gifted, yet so different at the same time. If I had to choose, I'ma taking Both!! 🔥🥰😍😎

Honestly don't like this version of Ever Dream. She sang with chest voice and there is no emotions. She used to did that song very lyricaly and with so mich feelings. Since it is one of most emotional songs ever writen I am a bit dissappointed with new preformances of this song. Slaying the dreamer is great though. 🤗
I totally agree. Ever dream is the song that became too emotional for me to listen. But I really dislike the way she sings it nowadays. She is using this style for every song and it just doesn't fit here (or hardly ever, in my opinion). White Christmas in Raskasta Joulua is another example. Also nothing against medleys really, but I'd much prefer any of the songs in their entirety, especially Tutankhamen since it hasn't been performed live with Nw. Where are you from, btw? :)
