    This worked perfectly for me - I have an external wah so I don't need the Pod Go's and the volume pedal doesnt get used that much - having 2 extra blocks made a big difference for me, even using the real low DSP effects is fine for what I do. Thanks Ben!

    I've installed the new firmare (1.40). Substituting the block definition with
    "blockx" : {
    "@position" : x
    },
    where x is the block you want to free it works in any position
    You can free also the equalizer block!

    Just amplifying (Dad pun...) what others have said. Truly amazing "hack". I almost never use the volume pedal and not using the 4-cable method, so being able to do this is great, especially because I usually want a looper with 4-5 pedals active or available in the preset but have to sacrifice one of the four default blocks to do so. Thanks so much for figuring this out and sharing your knowledge.

    This was a great workaround. Thanks a lot for posting. As an aside, since you have to allocate DSP to the amp, if just using as a quick stompbox solution into a house backline where you don't want to use an amp, using an amp like the Del Sol or Busy One uses only 5-6% of DSP. I'm unsure of what cab is best in terms of DSP but found that allows usage of almost anything.

    I was able to delete the EQ block as well......just to note, the blocks you need to delete ("block 4" or whatever) are found further down the text file. There are other references to blocks further up the page that should be ignored. Also it's worth changing the name of the preset in the text file itself as well as changing its file name on disk because for me at least changing the Disk Name did not change the preset name. Dang! Now this is the true definition of digging deep into it! Amazing!. You really know your stuff here. I know you're probably super busy but I have to ask as I've been pulling my hair out for a while now on this issue. And this is for anyone else out these as well.
    I can't seem to add and external overdrive pedal in the fx loop of the Pod Go without non stop hissing. As if the noise gate has no effect on the pedal whatsoever. I've tried everything I could possibly think of. I need to know if it can be done or if I have a defective unit as I've tried everything imaginable and mine just will not except any analog overdrives, boosters, etc. in the FX loop without either buzzing, hiss, or both (depending on battery or adapter being used). Thanks in advance :))

    • @BenCravenMusic
      @BenCravenMusic  Před 2 lety

      I'm sorry I'm not going to be much help. I've sold my Pod Go already because of the input impedance problem. I suspect you might have your effects loop set to "line" level rather than "effect" level, ie. the effect loop is too loud for a distortion pedal to work as expected. There might be a setup menu somewhere to configure it. Good luck!

    • @emach07
      @emach07 Před 2 lety

      @@BenCravenMusic Thanks Ben for your reply. I recall seeing the options "Line" and "Instrument" levels but not "effects". Maybe I was in the wrong section though. But i think you nailed it in that the fx loop is too loud or hot to handle and external overdrive or distortion pedal. It seems to run fine as long as I run the external pedal externally lolol (outside of the unit into the "guitar-in)
      I'm not fond of having the digital distortion "after" the analog distortion but I was still able to get a pretty darn good sound running it that way. Just lost a touch of the dynamics as digital doesn't cut through the mix like analog to my ears but I think with the tube amps preamp running last in the chain it's still dynamic enough (4 cable method). This is for emergency live gig backup anyway so it should do just fine. Thanks again Ben! Great video btw

  • @PostColorGear
    @PostColorGear Před 2 lety +1

    Two questions. 1. I know when you push the pedal down (toe side) it swaps to the other one (wah/volume) - does it get confused or does it basically do nothing if you do that?
    Also what did you mean about dsp limitations? I hadn't heard about that

    • @brayans2859
      @brayans2859 Před 2 lety

      Not sure about your first question since I haven't tried this before, but the DSP basically refers to the computing power of the pedal. The pedal has a limit to how much it can process, some effects use more DSP and some use less. That's why some will be greyed out if you have a lot of effects in your signal chain already

    If you delete the EQ block, can you then add it back if you ever want an EQ? You said that once you delete a block, you can't add it back (assuming because it is not selectable in the menu options), but EQ is selectable, so it deleting the EQ just making the block fully open to use, even if you choose to put the EQ back in that spot?
