Yea our April in southern md.has been 20 degrees cooler in 2023, about them nuts you been welding onto I weld a washer on first then a strong bolt .while hot spray some rust inhibitor, pb blaster .let the metal cool to the touch .hotmetal expands making for more friction ,also I slowdown wire speed n add extra heat, good luck 👍 God bless yall real good.

I am, well was a metal fabricator and mechanic for a good many years... seventy three now so the rigs shown were rigs I also drove as daily's. I never had a clue they would change so dang much. Heck, how can you improve on perfect and not just stay with it... all said and done, never saved any of my rigs for some day when I would be more able to appreciate their beauty.
I done a fair amount of removing broken bolts just as you did this one, so here is how I had success with bolts like that hardest one you got out. Heat is your friend and so while its really smoking hot, use never seize on the bolt and let it kind of work its way down into the rusty or seized area. I used a good thick washer to start with welded to the bolt that has to come out. Where you can get at both sides like this one was, heat from the bottom like you did with the never seize on the top and the heat will draw that silver in the never seize right into those narly threads. Once you have burn welded the washer on that bolt, go ahead and weld a nut for the wrench you want to use... I usually go big as its got more grip on that thick washer. I have used this on bolts that the break was down into the hole a few threads worth by stacking the tack welds like you were doing in the master cylinder patch. I by the way favor using a argon mix instead of flux core wire. Its mostly your preference as nothing is ever set in stone.... kinda as any rule made seems now days gets changed/LOL. I also just use a magnet to hold my patch plates in place and then tack weld them in and grind smooth... as said, a grinder makes me the welder I ain't... I am certified down to a hundred foot under water and did pipe line welding here in alaska where I reside.

Thanks for commenting and watching. I couldn’t imagine welding underwater that always has amaze me. I need to look up a video to see how that works.

Lots of guys weld a washer and a nut or use a bit of brake fluid or penetrating oil to lube the threads

Yeah, I got that suggestion from a couple others. I’ll give it a try next time.

Bless Nice to see you back. I've tried that trick with mixed results. However, I believe the heat finally gets to the old bolts. Thanks 😊

Yes, I’m guys are suggesting the washer first so you get more penetration to the broken off bolt the nut. I’ll try that next time.

If I’d a saw this when it came out I would’ve told ya try welding a washer to the bolt first then a nut to the washer usually works
