Cant believe this video is still up, I remember watching this in 2012 when I was in middle school, it's one of the first songs that made me want to play guitar. I remember my dad has an epiphone that looked really similar to the one he's using. To this day I still play guitar!
i have seriously listened to this so many times, i can tell exactly when the car horn goes off.
this opened me to the great world of andrew bird back in 2007 and I am still amazed by his talent

Andrew Bird is amazing...saw him open for wilco a couple weeks ago..really moving stuff. The man has perfect pitch most definetely and he whistles like no other.

Just lovely. I have just discovered the Take Away shows, and they are tres magnifique. A worthy endeavor.
What I love about this video is the fact that Andrew Bird just walks through Montmartre with a natural ease, as if he is part of the 18th Arrondissement.
People don't see to notice him, and those who do, look at him like there are seeing a ghost. Yes, in my opinion that is the beauty of this video.

The way he whistles here is how he loves to play violin as well, with his fluorescent arch! lol He's great!

Love this video and the whole la blogotheque project. Andrew Bird is great. Yes I would follow him and clap and gawk if I saw him walking around my town but not everybody knows this guy. There are plenty of talented street performers out there who aren't given the time of day and here Andrew Bird is no different. I think that kind of atmosphere, the one with no screaming fans, is what la blogo is going for.
Gah... he's so amazing... this makes me want to laugh, cry, vomit and poop my pants all at once. My skin is crawling like mad. Thank God for Andrew Bird! You rock, mister!

C'mon folks! This wasn't an MTV video recording! Andrew Bird does his art in life, not all cleaned up; refined and integrated. The honk was just life; "who the hell are you in my way?!"
And like the consummate artist that he is, Andrew Bird took it in stride.

I liked how the people clapped at the end. So far, I hadn't seen a Take Away Show where that has happen, the closest thing were the dancing kids in Menomena's Wet and Rusting.
That part of Paris is very picturesque...it's up on a hill overlooking the city from the north capped by the Basilica of the Sacred Heart (English translation)...the rest of the city is also great, featuring some great views and architecture, but that part is the most distinct of all of tit's districts

I always feel substantially more philisophical when I'm listening to Bird, and I can't for the life of me tell if Im just biased

If no one clapped in the end I would have been super pissed lol. I could die happy if I make it to one of his shows.

Have you ever noticed whistle stealers are everywhere? If you whistle in any crowd at any time, someone else will compulsively start whistling. Thing is tho- where you may be whistling a song or tune, they will whistle pure atonal gibberish, just to be whistling, thereby stealing and ruining your whistle. Here's the rub. If you stop... they too will stop. If you start again... they too will start again. It's a real thing. I'm not making this up. I whistle often and when people start whistle stealing I call their lame asses out.

@superfly1191 i wanted to know the same thing and after an exhausting amount of reasearch (not really ;)) i found out its a song by Charlie Patton and it's called I'm goin' home. unfortunatly it doesnt exsist in a studio version by bird. and the original is very grainy considering its from the early 1900's

Why was I not in this city? Why is no one paying any heed to Mr. Bird? I would be such a crazy fan person if I saw this! Good grief!
