They're so brilliant! I went to see them four times when they were playing in Marseille a couple of years ago. They are the proof that classical ballet can be beautiful without being pathetic!
I have been a huge fan for almost 40 years. I took my mother to a matinee performance in the 1970's and she absolutely loved the preformance. At that stage of their development they were still sporting chest, leg and underarm hair !!! In my DVD collection I have 2 of their performances. Tonight, I have watched one of those DVD's online and still find them an absolute knockout and joy to watch.
Guy #2 (Ida Nevasayneva?) has true prima ballerina legs. Loved the flirtatious glances & arm movements - what a hoot! Third guy w/ the glasses: excellent. Loved the "helper" for his balance!
I love them! Such hard work, specially when you have feet size 45 ;-) Clever, perfect and funny. My favorite is second dancer - he is a real "diva" ;-)
SuperModerngranny they all train professionally and a lot of them came from professional companies like NYCB, ABT, etc... I love them too. They’re awesome!!!
Odd maybe, but this is what the Trocks specialize in. It's funny and provoking. It also doesn't need explanatory comments. We can all see that they're men in tutus and dancing en pointe. That is the point.

So much fun when the Trocks truly outdo their female counterparts (as they so often do--how many female ballerinas can throw a few double tours en l'air into their fouettés, which are already peppered with tricks most females can't achieve?). Pretty darned brilliant.
The 4th variation guy is really good, i agree ! Lot of energy, theatrical expressions, i remember him when the Trocks came to Marseille three years ago.

What’s so fascinating about this is that most of these steps are specific to female dancers and we(men) don’t learn them because we’re in male technique class while the girls are in pointe class and yet all of these guys are doing them very well, without a lifetime on pointe. Astounding!
This troop area amazing. Compared to some of the "genuine" performances that I've seen of these variations thet exude so much more flair fun and panache, something that is really needed and so rarely seen in this ballet. Has anyone else noticed just how secure these guy are on point. The balance is for the most part rock solid not nearly so much "toppling" as you see with many of the women.

There is a Star that shines brighter than others, the public supports it. He has the grace, that little something extra that unleashes his audience, that bilateral relationship that makes everyone follow him at a wink of an eye. This, combined with an undeniable talent and passion, made him, despite all the possible contracts, a Star that would not be extinguished. Je te conseille vraiment de les voir sur scène, ils sont excellent, et leur spectacle se prête mieux à la scène que sur un DVD (comme tout spectacle, d'ailleurs !)
@nargus87 i have to agree..i saw him years ago at the peacock theatre in london doing the dying swan..i will never forget cause his nose looks like a birds beak too i was literally pissing my pants..it was one of the funniest things i ever saw
I wonder if they ever come to the San Francisco Bay Area in California. I would love to go see them in person. From a distance, to an untrained eye some of them may pass for female ballerinas. It looks like some do combination male & female parts all mixed on to pointe. They were very amusing and not at all tacky. I would definately pay to see them in person
Olivier B they‘re awesome on stage. I saw them many years ago and I loved them!!! Just don’t go backstage. My daughters were dancers so we knew how to get backstage and, we’ll, they weren’t expecting visitors, lol!!! They’re definitely eye candy... (from a female‘s point of view). They were all still wearing their briefs so we didn’t get to see EVERYthing. They were all very friendly and gracious, signed autographs, and encouraged my daughters to continue dancing. Awesome group of guys..:
