  • We went to Sesame Place San Diego for media preview event and had an absolute blast! Sesame Place is OPEN and waiting for YOU.
    We started off our visit to Sesame Place San Diego by riding Super Grover's Box Car Derby, the all new roller coaster and then rode a few more fun rides like Soar and Spin, Cookie Climb, Rub-a-Dub Sub, Elmo's Rockin' Rockets, and Abbey's Fairy Flight.
    Then we thoroughly enjoyed every water slide that Sesame Place San Diego has to offer like Oscar's Rotten Rafts, Snuffy's Spaghetti Slides and more.
    The main attraction, by far, is Cookie Monster Mixer, a gigantic funnel water slide that will have you screaming for dear life.
    Sesame Place is the all new SeaWorld water park with a Sesame Street theme. This location is only the second Sesame Place and the first on the west coast.

At our water park here, you need to carry the floats up to the top of the slide yourself and it is a huge deterrent for me at this point cause I don’t think i could carry floaties for myself and my kids 😅

    Great video! One thing I'm curious about has to do with the Cookie's Monster Mixer slide. In all the promotion materials and maps, there's a giant Cookie Monster at the top of the bowl with a mixing spoon. I guess that was cut? Also, this Sesame Place seems to have a broader audience appeal (a result of its previous life as Aquatica) than the original Sesame Place in Pennsylvania.

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  Před 2 lety

      You know, you’re absolutely right about Cookie Monster. I hadn’t even noticed, but yeah, I have to imagine it was a budget cut.
      I would also agree about the Pennsylvania difference. This one used to be an adult park. They did remove one of the adult slides to replace it with the stage area for the Sesame Street show. But otherwise, it’s definitely got an appeal for all ages.

      You aren’t really saving any money until the third visit though.
      If you see yourself also visiting SeaWorld you could consider a SeaWorld pass with a Sesame Place add-on or a platinum pass (that gives you access to all 11 SeaWorld parks in the US).
      We have Disneyland passes and make the trek up from East County San Diego at least once a month so it’s certainly doable but whether Sesame Place/SeaWorld has the same (or similar) appeal to you would be something to consider before getting a pass.

      SeaWorld is a theme park / aquarium with 15 rides and many of them smaller kids rides. Sesame Place is a water park that does have 7 small dry rides but the main attraction is the pools and water slides.

      Legoland is a major kids theme park that my 4 year old and 7 year old absolutely love. It has a water park too (extra cost).
      And I already explained the other two.
      I would suggest Legoland for sure and get the water park option if that interests you.
      And the other day would either be the Zoo/Safari Park or SeaWorld depending on if you want land animals or water animals.
      If you do Legoland, you may want a lower key day so Zoo/Safari Park would be the way to go. SeaWorld will be just as crazy/busy as Legoland. Maybe even more so.
