Glinner is just fucking weird. As a cis-man I've sadly known too many people who are 'casually' transphobic or who are outright transphobic, but both had lives *outside* of their bigotry, even the latter. But from what I can remember of Glinner's twitter account back in the day is that it was pretty much nothing more than just transphobia and nothing else. Admittedly entirely anecdotal, I used to struggle to find anything about what he did in the day for leisure, enjoying a new game/tv show/film or even just talking about something else that's "political" (not that trans rights should be political, but thanks Graham) in the news.

@@JaneA544 trans people are "natal born" too, everyone is. because natal means something related to birth. graham has posted several articles that are specifically meant to cancel people who disagree with him, so he's not anti-cancel culture. his version of debate is yelling "beard!" and "groomer!" and other sorts of (actual) libel at people. also everyone who claims theres a "trans cult", is without fail a frothing cultist with no original thought or opinion.

This is disgusting. I actually use HER, and the trans women are probably the nicest people on there. Most of them are SCARED because of the rising number of TERFs. Some of them even told me they almost feel like imposters because they get told they are constantly. Just listening to them talk about themselves like that makes me feel incredibly sad, so I can’t even begin to imagine how they must be feeling.
It's awful to hear the horrible dysphoria-inducing effect it's having on them, especially when it's a deliberate malicious act done by really cruel people.

Overall, what is Gary Glinner trying to say? What is the whole point of his stunt other than trying to uphold some arbitrary 'freeze peach' position at the detriment of many trans people?
He's been surrounded by yes men for about two decades, then someone told him he was wrong about something and his brain imploded as a result.
Glinner is absolutely not ok-- but this is not a recent thing, though it has gotten profoundly worse lately. He's lost his friends, most of his family, and his wife over this stuff. His public refusal to work with channel 4 again is pathetic-- as channel 4 has not, and will not ask him to. In the last couple of months, he's been barely able to do his little youtube videos without sounding like hes constantly on the verge of tears. He has no income, has burned through his savings, and is in real danger at this point though interestingly, not *a single person* who ostensibly supports him has offered him any financial help whatsoever, or even work leads. Even Rowling refuses to mention him. He is well and soundly fucked.
I don't think its going to end well. He fits the stereotype of a fetishistic crossdresser raised catholic, who lashes out at anyone who reminds him of his "perverted sin" because he's incapable of coping with his own guilt. I've known a lot of glinners. It doesn't end well for any of them.
