Finding the Appropriate z Value for the Confidence Interval Formula (Using a Table)

- I show how to find the appropriate z value (using the standard normal table) when calculating a confidence interval. The version of the table used in this video gives the area to the left of the z value (and not the area between 0 and z).
For those that use R, below is the R code to find the values (see the video for illustrations).
z value for a 95% interval:
qnorm(.975)
[1] 1.959964
z value for a 75% interval:
qnorm(.875)
[1] 1.150349

So much clarity! You are amazing. I think there is a special place some University Lecturers go to so they make the simple complicated. You make it astoundingly easy, and your voice is so right...what a great voice! What a star guy you are!!

Thank you. This is very precise.
You have a good idea about teaching sir , I have got that how to find the the value of Z alpha by 2 but I my classroom my have less knowledge about this particular topic
Also this voice! You must be a voiceover artist to one of those adverts for a new product released. Like "at just 5.99 you could buy 2 metal chains, that's right, just 5.99 and..."
I tried to do that for a while, but I developed a mental block where I could no longer say "just pay separate shipping and handling". My career went south from there, so I did the natural thing and turned to statistics.
This was very helpful and easy to understand
so far this explanation clarified things for me

My table looks at values from 0 upto the required z-value but anyways your clear explanation helped a lot. When I was doing a problem (which also requires this part discussed in the video) for the second time, I totally forgot how to find the reliability factor and wasted a good few hours trying to figure out what needs to be done. I hope you make and keep making more videos related to statistics problems.
