ok as I can see Djinns are what in western folklore and in some traditions are described as faeries, spirits, familiars, demons and elementals. The domestic spirits, kinda mimic humans in their belief and habits. As we can see the Muslim Djinns mimic the humans they are attached to, same thing with christian Djinns and Jewish. The experiences are pretty much identical regarding to habits. The malevolent ones....the Shaytans or Demons infestation in western tradtitions as in the eastern, usually make a parody and mocking of the religion in question and proceed with the oppression of individual, spiritual first and psychical later. Rare cases both simultaneously. They can only be cast out with the intervention of a faith holder and tormented by the reading of sacred scriptures.
The description is pretty much identical cross cultures and religions. However im not familiar with east asian traditions and Hindu. I wonder whats their take on this.
