Hi Dave great video as always. Saw there was an update/upgrade available but now it seems Topaz want me to pay again. Topaz have changed the wording on the list of changes to say that upgrades are only free for 12 months now. I’ve recommended Topaz to many camera club members on the basis updates are included but not any more . I think this is appalling, the topaz community have helped to develop the product Topaz even ask to share your pictures to help train the models. Shame but typical of companies that lure you in then hope they’ve got you trapped just like Adobe.
Thank you Dave, I was actually waiting this week for your new video about the latest version of Photo AI. Topaz finally fixed the Preserve Text function! I was still using version 2.3.0, where the Preserve Text function was fine. Then Topaz released new versions with bad results preserving text. So, now I am happy they fixed this problem and now I can upgrade to this new 3.1.0 version.
I was waiting for this video from you because there was a lot of changes with this new version and I wanted to make sure I understood how to use them. A fantastic, indispensable piece of software just keeps getting better. Thanks.
Topaz tools have become obsolete unless they get on board with new trends and start adding diffusion models…..any diffusion enhancers is so much better……they didn’t see it coming and now they’re well behind innovation…..and it hurts because it is a brand we all love and care, but unfortunately is handled by the wrong people, or better said, not visionaries…..thanks for the video!

Thanks Dave! Excellent lesson on all the new enhancements. I have one recommendation for Topaz and I’ll contact them about it. I wish they had a more direct way to reset the brush selections. Their approach now is taking the long way around the barn.

Thanks for this very helpful path through the new Photo AI. I'm a recent user of it (I used to work with Topaz Sharpen AI and Gigapixel), and their latest version brings a lot of good stuff. I have a series of photos I shot with my phone (never forget your camera at home, when you could need it!), and I will run them with Photo AI to see what I can get out of them.

At 3:39 the vertical stribes in the largest roller blind, the one with the Stumptown text, looks blurred on my screen. But the denoise option has still not been activated. What is causing that blur?
I selected 2160p60 resolution for a quality screen.
At 8:25 the vertical lines are visible from top to bottom and behind the text. It looks perfect.
At 8:33 the stribes turns into a blurred mess again.
What is the explanation?

great presentation. I need to renew my license (99usd). But also gigapixel one (79usd). Is gigapixel different than photo ai rescale and why two products ? can you compare the two products ?
Thanks Dave for indrodution of the enhancement of PhotoAI 3.1. But after using the "Preserve Text" the background of the text (Stumpletown...) in the window looks a bit streaky. It seems thats affects the entire surface of the mask (see in 7:53) . Is there's a way to prevent this?
Not sure why that happened but hopefully will be improved with an update.
Slightly off-topic perhaps, but - I've found Topaz Clarity, particularly the Clouds 1 & 2 settings, enormously useful for bringing out detail and texture in landscape images, particularly in skies and water. Is there anything equivalent in Photo AI...or in any other processing software for that matter? The Clarity options in LR and PS (and even the TK9 panel - sorry Tony!) don't seem to come close, unless I'm missing something.
This update introduced a bad bug for me where I keep getting just a blank image !
09:32 Do not work with all images or photos. Depending on which area of an image it zoom-in, it will still re-render, and also, in comparison, preview does even worse or still needs to re-render back and forth. Still needs to be improved.
Are you using it as a plug in or stand alone
Hi Dave,... I use Denoise and sharpen as a plugin. Do you recomment that i switch to Photo Ai?
Denoise AI and Sharpen AI are excellent products. However, if you’re interested in additional features, Photo AI offers several benefits, one of which is upscaling.

Yes - they have frozen most of their product lines except gigapixel and all effort is going into new features for photosAI. It’s not a cheap product and many complain about the update subscription concept, and it had some early bad growing pains, but I like it for general use now and the ability to process RAW files from LR (which I use on occasion). Thanks Dave for your vids. Hope your flower photos continue to go well…
