    In this video I install Motofab’s DR-2 top hat style leveling kit. This kit installs on top of the factory struts and I increases the ride height of the front of my truck by 2”. This kit does NOT require any strut disassembly so it’s much safer to install than the preload spacers in other leveling kits. For now I will be using my stock UCAs until I figure out what my long-term game plan is with ride height.
    Overall I netted about 1.5-1.75” of lift in the front which maintained ½” rake front to back. Install was easy with basic garage tools but anytime you change or modify major suspension components you will need an alignment.
    Here is a link to the kit I used: amzn.to/3hwbCJP

    thing I noticed, is when putting the strut back in (with 2" spacer), it was crazy tight to the point I needed just a little bit more, then a little bit more. so I loosened the 36mm Axle Nut to where it was still threaded on the axle, but only by a few threads. that gave me that extra bit to get the lower control arm to give me an extra inch downwards.

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  Před 3 lety

      Yup, it’s a tight fit with 2” spacers. I can’t imagine doing this with a 2.5 or 3” kit. Good call on loosening the wheel nut!

    Just bought a 21 rebel and there was one 1” difference between front and back. To put the 2” lift in the front I had to put a 1 1/2” spacer in the back so the front wasn’t higher.

  • @TexansFanBryan
    @TexansFanBryan Před 3 lety

    So this may be a dumb question, but could you pair this MOTOFAB leveling kit with Bilstein 6100 up front and 5160 shocks on the rear?

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  Před 3 lety

      Assuming you’re talking about a Rebel or a Ram with ORP springs i wouldn’t add Bilsteins and the Motofab kit. If you want more lift than what the 6112’s will do then you’re looking at a full lift kit. The spacers cause too many down travel issues.

    does the rebel have the 1 inch lift from the factory off rd package?

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  Před 3 lety

      The Rebel has 1” lift compared to the normal Rams. It’s the same height as the Rams with the Off road package. Only difference between the ORP and the Rebel is the Rebel also comes with bilstein 4600’s.

    • @XB0XM4N420
      @XB0XM4N420 Před 3 lety +1

      Does the one inch lift on the rebel affect the level making it 3.5 front in total, my shop is recommending upper control arms because most 3.5 " levels recommend them. Or is the factory upper control arm fine with this kit

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  Před 3 lety +1

      Correct 1” plus the 2” leveling kit makes this a 3” kit compared to a basic Ram. Considering our Rebels have the same UCAs and the basic Rams it’s definitely worth replacing them with newer ones to accommodate the new angles
