Watching this makes me want a halo marine game were it's kinda like halo wars but you can take over any marine and play it like normal halo.
This essentially exists, but as Battlefield 2 on consoles.

This idea I think would be amazing with a rts game where you can take command of the squad leader and play as a fps and command the squad like republic commando or some other game with squad mechanics

Don't you know how quickly Halo: Cursed Edition was started? People jump on these mods ASAP, and it's great.

Yeah community for modding actually started back when it was on the 360 you could find alot of old youtubers doing 360 mods as soon as people could get their hands on Dev kits. Problem modding console required alot of time and patience and it wasn't easily accessible to everyone never the less there were hundreds of mods. So really once MCC came to PC it was really just a matter of porting over alot of old mods. An where MCC is at now with constant updates its able to supports the modding community.

Biggest buzzkill of that forge update was seeing Halo Reach add the pelicans and phantoms into forge, but only as props. Especially when they had so much functionality as an easter egg, like rideable seats and gunner🥲

Not a big fan of not being able to zoom in on the battle rifle. Not exactly lore friendly, but I can see why it would be fun.
Not able to use the scope on a scoped rifle?..
I hate that when I look through my scope, it's scoped in... It totally breaks my immersion from spaceships and space chimps blowing up all around me

Yeah, but at least it takes a back seat to the weapon sandbox. That's a good thing, rather than being the meta.
The two mods I wanted most as a kid
I would love to see more things like this in Halo. I would love another ODST game or a game where you just play as a marine. It would be even cooler if there was a game where you could play as some of the Covenant species. Imagine playing as a brute, a jackal, or a drone. I wish they would explore more of Halo's universe with the games.
For the flood mission rescuing cortana I was making the player an elite with a squad of grunts, jackals, and other elites to give you that feel like from halo 2. Now I gotta wait until official mod support comes to halo 3. Once it comes I'm going to make a lot of missions where you can play as different races with new encounters.
Both of those mods look really cool. The Marine is neat because he doesn't have shields, just health.
Halo infinite being a 10 year plan, will lead to many spinoffs through out the time, personally I’m really looking forward to a Halo ODST 2 and a flood inspire horror game were you can only play as a marine and don’t have your fancy set of Mark .VI.

I hope the Shield bar at the top is eventually removed, since y'know, you're a Marine. Other than that, it's a very cool mod.
It could work if retooled to work as a health bar. Or maybe just a CE style health bar

Hopefully some of these mods get officially adopted by 343i after official mod tools roll around. I would love some ideas like making a variant of Halo 3 multiplayer using the ODST models and stats for a true “recon slayer” option, or having Flood in ODST firefight. Would love if there was also an option to play as Arbiter in single player campaign where Chief becomes the AI companion instead and the cutscenes all become the co-op versions to account for this

The OG sound effect for the assault rifle in Halo 3 sounds like rapid and cartoonish punching than a sound an actual gun would make.
The OG AR sound effect is so cool, I was always mad they didnt just replicate that sound

6:31 a gold brute pulls a marine out of the warthog and slaps him, but chad marine slaps back harder taking out the brute's shield
Looks amazing but the character models needs to be further away from the reticle. Kinda hard to see it looks like.

On the flood ship mission I made the player an elite with a squad. I did modify the flood in my newest mod so that they don't infect humans right away so easily.
Assault rifle really needed a boost.
I like the smooth transition from third to first person, but then control is taken away based on the weapon you use?

eh i wouldn’t say people would act that way if it was added as an option. i think most of the hate comes from adding new art style into an old game and it not fitting in very smoothly.
Lore friendly you say? So you want sniper jackals on each level where you can find the Covenant? Im sure covenant would use every jackal they have to stop you...

Unfortunately you can't that's one of this biggest issues about Halo modding.
i tried downloading it and it just keeps bringing me back to the main menu
Because the game was updated. Unfortunately every time the game is updated all mods break real bad. Gotta wait until mod support for halo 3.
Can you play Halo 3 as birdperson?
Probably wasn't going since Gears of War was 3rd Person and Halo was competitive
