Having seen the original cast on Broadway in 1971, this staging is close to the original as far as the dancers go. Not close as far as Ms. Prowse is concerned. The magnificent Alexis Smith owned this number. I saw this revival in Long Beach. The theater was enormous. Had to sit rear orchestra since season subscribers had the best seats. It was nice to see the show again after 19 years, but the magic of the original just wasn't happening for me.
I respect the movement and power of Miss Prowse's performance here, but it drives me crazy when she sings "and" instead of "but" in the following lines: "dressy BUT cold as a slab"; "racy BUT hard as a rock"; "lacy BUT dull as a smock"; "classy BUT virtually dead." All the craft goes out the window. She also sings "Jessy wants to DO what Lucy was" instead of "BE what Lucy was". If I were hearing this song for the first time, I would have no idea what it was about.
Love that orchestration!
I saw this production and it was fantastic. Juliet Prowse was, hands down, the best Phyllis I've ever seen in "Follies"
Oh my god. The staging is so interesting. The set is gorgeous. Thank you for this high quality version with a perfect angle!
She is superb
I saw this production. It was wonderful
Very classy indeed!
Boy, do you get your money's worth with Juliet Prowse as Phyllis! She dances like a star!
Well this is ghastly on every level possible.

You're watching the performance from the wrong night. If you're lucky maybe someday somebody will post the matinee for trolls.
Fosse hands during a Bennet classic? No.
Very tacky number badly done she has no vouce
I recommend you get the wax removed from your ears. I saw this production several times in 1990. She sang it wonderfully
